Actually a variant on what you suggest is for the Republicans to call news conference and propose even more absurd spending while laughing about it and ridicule Obama. In other words just state some 3X Obama proposals and describe what would happen and say why not? If what Obama suggests is so great why not even go further and get 3 times the benefits. Ridicule is a powerful weapon
