This civil war should be on 50 fronts.
If the Tea Party can’t get any traction after the Obamacare fiasco and the multitude of Obama’s lies, then there isn’t much hope.
I didn't so I Googled "Dean Young Alabama" and only got hits for very recent articles at Slate, Huffington Post and some other lefty org. All the headlines imply a narrow-minded Tea Party bigot.
Pinging to poster of a thread on this topic from yesterday ...
If comments at the site are an indicator, the Tea Party does not enjoy a stellar reputation on the part of the populace. Folks generally are thinking one-tooth southern drawling snake-handling pentecostal negro lynchers in dirty bib overalls when they think Tea Party. Definitely a labelling uphill battle.
Dean Young appears to be on the extreme end of the Tea Party spectrum. Amazingly...despite having no money...he appears to be tied neck and neck with Byrne. I’m not in that district but if I was I would be voting for Byrne. IMHO Young would wind up being an embarrassment in DC.
When the Chamber of Commerce is against you these days, it means you are the conservative.
Young made waves for helping defeat a tax increase for schools and has run a few campaigns on tax matters. He played a role in Judge Roy Moore's big comeback win for the AL supreme court.
Byrne has sprint upwards of 20 times more than Young and US Chamber of Commerce has been doing month long or more robocall call campaign plus big glossy mailers.
The chamber support for Byrne shifted my vote to Young.
Byrne was my and I think the conservative vote here. Though he is a party switcher and not an ideal conservative by any means, Byrne fired corrupt Dims in the Junior College system.
The Dims/left cost him the GOP nomination for Gov two years back to retaliate for him daring to stand up against their corruption. They wanted to cost him this nomination for the same reasons. We need to reward people who actually stand up to Dim corruption, whether or not they are ideal candidates. [Byrne was a Clinton delegate before party switching.]
