Mitch McConnell draws a line in the sand for the Tea Party

Up until now, the war between the Tea Party and the “establishment GOP” (however you define that) has been kind of one sided. Responses from the old guard have tended to run along the lines of, “we’re all fighting for the same goals, we just don’t agree on the tactics” or, more simply, “can’t we all just get along?” But this week, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell sat down with Peggy Noonan for a WSJ interview which is bound to have some tongues wagging. In it, he’s essentially taken off the gloves, and said what most of the media mavens have been repeating for months now.

“The most important election yesterday wasn’t the governor of New Jersey and it wasn’t the governor of Virginia, it was the special election for Congress in South Alabama, where a candidate who said the shutdown was a great idea, the president was born in Kenya, and that he opposed Speaker Boehner came in second.” The victory of a more electable Republican, is significant, Mr. McConnell says. To govern, parties must win. To win, parties must “run candidates that don’t scare the general public, [and] convey the impression that we could actually be responsible for governing, you can trust us—we’re adults here, we’re grown-ups.”

The tea party, he says, consists of “people who are angry and upset at government—and I agree with them.” But “I think, honestly, many of them have been misled. . . . They’ve been told the reason we can’t get to better outcomes than we’ve gotten is not because the Democrats control the Senate and the White House but because Republicans have been insufficiently feisty.

Misled? To me that comment is entirely accurate up to the world feisty. We don’t want feisty, we want someone to stand up for our founding rights, not bend over every time someone says boo.

Maybe Mitch can point to all the conservative achievements by congress when the GOP controlled both houses and the White House from 2002 through 2006.

I’ve thought lately when referring to establishment Republicans rather than placing an “R” after their names we should place “DL” for “Democrat Lite” or “Designated Loser”. These clowns just don’t get it.

Time for a REALITY check, Mitch:

1.) What have you ever done to reverse the steamrolling success against the US Constitution and the US Congress of B. Hussein Obama and Harry Reid?

2.) Has Harry Reid ever thanked you for coming up with your “Continuing Resolutions” to bypass the need to have a Federal Spending Budget for 5 years?

McConnell, Christy, Boehner, and the Bush family have made it clear conservatives are not wanted in their party. They will put more energy into making “Tea Party” candidates fail than they will into defeating Democrats.

It is time for conservatives to break off and form a separate party. The GOPe will fight to the death to preserve their perks and cozy relationships with the Democrats, European Socialists, and Wall Street. Why continue to fight a two front war against the globalist socialists. Pull out of the GOP and focus on the Democrats. Like the Whigs, the GOP without its conservative base, will quickly wither and die.

Sometimes an organization is too corrupt to reform from within. Ultimately our founding fathers came to the realization they could not reform the British governing system by patiently working on the inside. They decided to go their own way. Let’s follow their lead.

McConnell will be doing like McCain and Hatch did when their reelection seemed to be in trouble: they claimed they were head of the Tea Party conservatives.

but because Republicans have been insufficiently feisty.

Little old ladies are "feisty", McConnell. And I don't even see you and your cowardly little clique capable of THAT!

What a pusillanimous excuse for an American.

So Mitch, how much did it cost the taxpayers in bribes to your state to get you to vote for that CR/Debt Limit bills last month? $2 Billion or so?

On a side note, I have to say I appreciate it when they let the mask slip once in a while and tell us what they really think of us. We are the enemies to have lines drawn in sand against, not leftist Rats.

somehow I think Mitch is over in politics....and he knows it...this 40 million dollar deal is the last of Mitch...we don’t need spineless, self-centered people running our business anymore...time for the Tea Party to get into overturning people like Mitch, Hatch, McPain, Graham and a lot of others and put people in there that can do our work for us, or maybe there are enough of the Tea Party that can replace each and everyone of them and turn this country around....

They’ve been told the reason we can’t get to better outcomes than we’ve gotten is not because the Democrats control the Senate and the White House but because Republicans have been insufficiently feisty.

Feisty is about the last adjective I would use to describe McConnell. He's had his chance and didn't do jack. Ted Cruz accomplished more in the first year of his freshman term than McConnell has in his entire senate career. Now he's concerned about his job and perks so he wants to fight - conservatives and fellow Republicans. Gutless wonder.

Mitch has been sucking at the gummint teat for his income since 1967, and has never had a real, productive job.

Riddle me this Batman, how does a gummint employee for 46 years, with his highest paycheck being $180,000, LEGALLY have a net worth of about $44 MILLION?????

Think he has taken any paper bags of cash, converted political donations to personal use, or used his position to make investments based on real deep insider information???

Or maybe, he had just a real astute investor for his "blind" trust.

How many of these lifetime political whores, have started with no money and because of insider information and favor granting, become big time millionaires? Time for mitch to go and play golf with the one.
