The "deal" doesn't give our embassy back (which is sovereign American soil).

Embassies are not sovereign territory according to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. This is one of the most common misconceptions regarding international diplomacy. They are, however, considered inviolate according to that Convention.
