A Brooklyn man named Barry Baldwin, 35, has been arrested and charged with five incidents in which Jewish women were viciously punched for no apparent reason. The incidents are seen as being connected to a sadistic game called the “knockout game,” which involves targeting unsuspecting victims on the street and knocking them out with a sucker punch.
Police picked up Baldwin last week, and originally connected him to six incidents and charged him with six hate crimes because he targeted Jewish victims, sources told the Daily News. For some reason, the charges were later downgraded to assaults without a hate motive, according to court papers. Prosecutors didn’t comment on the reasons for the downgraded charges.
“Everyone will sleep a little easier,” said Assemblyman Dov Hikind, who has been warning the community about the danger.
Baldwin admitted to five incidents — four last month and one in November — but didn’t explain why he assaulted the women. ....

The DA got a call from Eric Holder who explained how hate crimes only work one way.

He probably can’t explain why he does anything.
In this case, I guess the cops didn’t need to ask.
The reason that 5 were Jewish is because he lived nearby. The 2 others were Asian and Hispanic, IIRC. In other words, anybody who wasn’t black.
I’d love to see some black minister come out and tell the grannies to tell their “grans” to stop attacking anybody who wasn’t black. But that’s never going to happen.
How do you determine that someone is Jewish?

I guess he just focused on non-black victims and they happened to be Jewish.
Regardless, he needs to be put down like the other poster said.
Many Jews in that area are orthodox. Their style of dress, both for men and for women, is unmistakable.

Orthodox Jewish women cover their hair with either a kerchief or a wig, and dress modestly. How dare they. That deserves a bash on the back of the head./s

And they always wear dresses, always. Never jeans or pants of any type. The dresses are rather plain and long, going down almost to the ankles.
And high socks are always worn. It is considered immodest for a woman to expose any part of the leg, or arm for that matter.
That area of Brooklyn has a large Hasidic (ultra-orthodox) community. Their dress and hair is distinctive.

In that neighborhood, someone who is dressed modestly in a long skirt wearing a hat or a very good wig is probably an Orthodox woman.
