They’ll be cutting firewood for years. That’s how it is in Ak, and we sure have good burns.
Actually they’ll be sending the logs on private land to the mill for lumber. It will be too long before the public lands are released and by then the insects will make most of the timber worthless. Which is what the environment pinkos want. Proceeds from the BLM timber was once supposed to be used for the schools. Now the schools do without.
I was in Glendale last August for my 50th HS reunion and there were 4,000 pup tents all over the high school grounds. The community was covered with signs saying, “Thank You Fire Fighters” and similar comments. When the local people were told they couldn’t give the fire fighters cookies and other food they heard someone say they needed socks. The next day mountains of socks were brought in for the fire fighters.
some folks need to say “We tried to save the spotted owl by killing the lumber industry, even though sustainable forestry is a well known way of life for timber companies. What has happened after 30 years - we have the same number of owls, because other birds are killing them. But if you are a green wind power program you can kill all the birds you want with no penalty. Is that the American way? Maybe we should bring back the lumber industry and lower the cost of housing, create jobs and protect animals...it can be done”
