> Well that cant be... I read here on FR that the only reason why JCP is dying is because of their gay ads? When did Sears, Best Buy and K-Mart do that as well?
<\sarc>
Obama whis is gay caused them to close.../s...: )
Good lord! That picture is so gross! She has enough metal in her head to pick up Radio Free Europe and Radio Habana Cuba without the radio. B-P
“Mostly cheap made chinese crap. This goes for ALL STORES that sell women’s clothing. “

Yep,even the higher priced stores have gone way down in quality.
Appleseeds’ stuff is garbage these days and Talbots is not far behind.
.
The Washington, PA store is in the largely dead Washington Mall. It had moved to a brand new building on US 19 seven or eight years ago. But within a few months the new store began sinking into a mineshaft, and they had to hastily move back to the mall in time for Christmas.
Washington Crown Center is the vibrant mall down there.
Kind of surprised Penneys at Century III Mall survived.
Personally, I wouldn't put him in a circus side show. The elephant man would be more attractive and scare off fewer customers.
They’re not closing the one in Monroe where my son buys his shorts, nor the one in Pineville where a couple of my friends work.
I think the best explanation comes from post #55. This J.C. Penney's is in the older dying mall in Washington, PA. I had it confused with the new thriving mall near the junction of the interstates. My bad.
Thanks Buckeye. I was confusing Washington Mall with Washington Crown Center.
Damn.... You got me on that one.... ;-)
More indication that the Middle-class is being murdered in this country. Thank the Free Traitors for this.
Macy’s carries Alfred Dunner and has a much better selection than JCP. I have a closet full of AD. I like it because everything is co-ordinated colorwise and of very good quality. I’m not sure what you mean by “pullover stuff” as they carry a full line of very nice blouses and skirts as well as slacks. I completely understand your aversion to “hooker” clothes but for myself, AD has been a good choice. I have blouses that are 10 years old and still look like brand new. I like the extra embroidery touches they put on sweaters along with the beading. I’m 73 though so my view may be more old fashioned than many.
Absolutely, but it difficult for me to say which had the greater significance. I know the issue with the heterosexual community did start before the Obozo economics, but the economy may have been the final nail in the coffin. Kind of like those double death spirals. The more desperate you get the more stupid decisions you make.
Sears had mail order catalogs over a hundred years ago. They simply forgot that customer's have choices. If you don't do everything possible to ensure that customers choose your business then your competitors will gain and you will lose.
My mother-in-law described how when she was a girl the family would order their supplies for winter from Sears. The entire order would arrive in the fall and could include any of the thousands of products that Sears sold.
Now when you go into one of their stores you have to wonder where the clerk is. It didn't have to be this way.
The economy started it’s death spiral when Obama took office. Seeing retailers fail is just what he wants. He can buy those too.....in the name of the taxpayers, of course.
I agree wholeheartedly with you about the current state and selection available of women’s clothing. I haven’t bought anything new to wear for months, even though some items really need replacing. Drug out my sewing machine and some of my old patterns but then couldn’t even find any decent material and very, very few fabric stores any more with not much available in them that’s of any quality. Guess I will just do more patches on the patches and take very good care of my two remaining “un-holey” Sunday outfits.
That’s funny, I haven’t been there in so long, the old mall is the only one I was thinking of. I never noticed the newer mall when I have driven by on I-70 or I-79. I probably haven’t been to Washington (other than driving thru) since I attended Bethany College in the 80’s.
