WASHINGTON Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, has announced his office has taken the initial steps to call for a Senate Ethics Committee investigation of Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas.
Cornyn is the Senate minority whip and second-most powerful Republican on Capitol Hill.
He is also facing a challenge from Stockman for his Senate seat in the Texas GOP primary on March 4.
A Stockman spokesman told WND a formal Request For Investigation was filed with the Senate Ethics Committee Monday. He said Cornyn could face as many as 24 counts of using his Senate office to promote his reelection campaign.
The congressman claims he has been targeted by establishment Republicans and broke the news to WND on Jan. 31 that he was suing Cornyns Super PAC for libel.
Stockmans suit accuses the PAC of numerous false statements including some of the most outrageous, malicious defamation ever recorded in Harris County (Texas).
The Texan said the PAC is run by former Cornyn staffer Randy Cubriel and funded by a $2 million check from the late Robert Perry, a $185,000 donor to Cornyn and advocate for immigration amnesty.
The congressmans office said the group lists Karl Roves Warrenton, Va., address in TV station records for its ad purchases.
As for the ethics complaint, Stockmans office said a search of Cornyns Twitter account (@JohnCornyn) finds Cornyns taxpayer-funded office shared messages from the campaign account (@TeamCornyn), photographs promoting Cornyns re-election campaign and endorsements of Cornyns re-election at least 24 times between Sept. 23, 2013 and Jan. 10, 2014.
Stockmans spokesman said Senate ethics rules strictly prohibit any communications from a senators official office that directly promote or publicize his political campaign.

NRSC Raised Money Using Christine O'Donnell's Name the Day Before Delaware Primary
Is that French for "Turdblossum"? I still remember a bit of German, I suppose a loose translation would be scheisseblute.
Scheisskopf
scheissekopf.
In 20 days Stockman will be riding high if a runoff is mandated. Or in 20 days
Cornyn will be on his way to election of a 3rd term.
Early voting begins in six days and it will be interesting to see what turnout shows.
It should be fairly high as all statewide races are up and the governorship is open.
Go get him, STOCKMAN! Take NO PRISONERS!
We in Texas are doing our best to Cruz him!!!
McCain won easily in 2010. I expect the same result in Tx. Early voting would help because tree are more conservatives in Tx. It doesn’t take $$$ to drag your friend to the polls.
Seems Cornyn didn’t learn a damn thing from “Dirty” David Dewhurst’s loss to Ted Cruz!
tete is head thus $hithead oui!
Let’s instead face the fact that Stockman is Stockman’s worse enemy.
This guy needs to GO AWAY.
Stockman ain’t no Cruz.
Who would you suggest, I think there are 6 candidates running.
WOW! That gives a whole new meaning to “Kicking butt and taking names.”
Good for Stockman. I, for one, am sick of hearing Conrball’s non-stop faux conservative and the anti-Stockman ads being played back to back (in the Houston area/Harris County).
If Corny actually was a *strong conservative*, why on Earth would he need to play these ads, around the clock, on radio and TV? Why? Because he’s a skeert little fraud. That’s why!
Stovall is the closet to a Cruz as is running and “maybe” has a chance to finish #2 for a runoff.
The trouble is even though Stockman isn’t really campaigning, he could either end up #2 and NOT CAMPAIGN more in the runoff, getting waxed or cause such Primary disinterest that Cornyn comes in 50%+1 and no runoff.
