Something Incredible Happens When a Citizen Asks MN Dems Simple Obamacare Question

During a town hall-style agricultural symposium in Mankato, Minn., on Wednesday, Democratic lawmakers were left speechless after a citizen asked a very simple question about Obamacare.

The question: “I thought the Affordable Care Act would save $2500 per family. What happened?”

Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Rep. Tim Walz, both of Minnesota, seemingly didn’t know how to respond. In fact, the room erupted in laughter after the two just stared at each other. Rep. Collin Peterson (D-Minn.), who also attended the meeting, was the only one prepared to respond.

“I voted ‘no’, so I’ll let these guys handle that,” he said, sparking applause from the audience.

The uncomfortable moment underscores the reality that many Democrats are trying to distance themselves from Obamacare and even President Barack Obama heading into the midterm elections.

KEYC-TV captured the priceless moment on video and the local report was flagged by Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey on Thursday.

Walz eventually managed to piece together a response, which Morrissey says is the “line that Democrats will use in their defense in the midterms.”

“This health discussion has got to be broader, it’s got to point out where there are weaknesses and failures, it’s got to make sure we’re not leaving people behind or distorting the system,” the lawmaker said. “But don’t pretend there was some type of safe harbor before this where everything was just peachy keen.”

Pushing back at that assertion, Hot Air notes that before Obamacare was passed, Gallup reported in 2009 that “85% of Americans had health insurance — and 87% expressed satisfaction with their health care, while 61% were satisfied with the costs associated with it. Fifty percent of the uninsured were satisfied with their health care, although 69% were dissatisfied with the costs.”

The question: “I thought the Affordable Care Act would save $2500 per family. What happened?”

The easy answer to that question: 'If you believed that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that you would probably want to buy"

After the question is asked they act all coy and laughter ensues. Hahahaha!! I’d ask, “WTH are you laughing at?! This isn’t a laughing matter!” These idiots won’t be laughing when they get sick.

Someone from the show, The Independents, went out on the streets to ask people which they preferred - the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare. It was stunning to see how many people didn’t know they were the same thing.

One woman answered that she preferred the ACA. When asked why, she said, “Because it’s affordable.”

Never underestimate the gullibility of the average American voter.

That would be a nice ad campaign for election season:

“What are YOU doing with the $2500 you saved because of Obamacare?”

Never underestimate the gullibility of the average American voter.

Still maintain that at least 2/3 of Americans are hopeless idiots and have no idea what is really happening around them. They have no idea that communism is taking America over.

Exactly. The next questioner should have asked what’s funny about any of this - and seriously demanded an answer.

If I took on “dear leaders” and got audited or harassed you can bet I’d hold that idiot accountable with my fists.

I’m sad to say I agree with you. People keep on believing politicians and their promises. They really think government can solve all their problems and that there is a free lunch.
*sigh*

I’d laugh, but the joke is on us.

They won. They own it and will use it to control everything. In the next few months lawyers, actors and journalists will determine how to turn this question into a positive campaign commercial.

As I would say;

“Is this a joke to you?!”

Both “what happened?” and ‘why do you think this is funny?” need to be crammed down their throats the way Obamacare was crammed down ours.

Don’t let up.

It was stunning to see how many people didn’t know they were the same thing.

Many Americans are caught up in the glam of fame, be it entertainment or sports. They pay very little attention to politics. Politicians capitalize on this by using 'sound bites' when they speak, recognizing that few will make the time to read through a proposed bill. It's also true that many Americans do not take notice of politics until it actually effects them personally.

They have no idea that communism is taking America over.

Some people think we are still living in the 1950s. It is not Communism that is overtaking America. It is something much more evil and much worse. It is the reprobate mind, the mind incapable of telling good from bad, truth from falsehood--in fact, people who are afraid of Communists and communism will accept that good is evil, and evil is good.

And when these who fear communism are told the truth, they will not listen, will not heed.

The Truth is that America is under the Divine Judgment of God. See Roman 1:18 and verses following for the details.

If you are a Conservative and still believe that there is such a thing as relativism, (that some bad things are tolerable), then you may share in that Judgment.

I’d bet the guy who asked the question will vote for the two democrats who couldn’t answer it. And he’ll also vote for Stuart Smiley.
