Through a wide variety of projects, in order to quickly respond to any contingencies at home and abroad, we will build an "Adaptive Agile Ground Defense Force," rapidly deployed in phased sequence for effective deterrence and response, so as to bring forth a Dynamic Joint Defense Force.

We are resolved to create a "Tough & Resilient JGSDF" capable of quickly responding and completing any mission anytime, thus defending our people's lives and property, and the territorial integrity of Japan.

Thankfully, they did not include environmental awareness or cultural sensitivity in their mission statement.

My father survived taking back several Pacific islands from them, including Okinawa.

From what little he told me, anyone that fools around with the Japanese is in for a very bad time.

I hope the Chinese remember their WWII lessons well about what a small island country can do when it gets riled up. The Japanese are peaceful now, best let them stay that way, sort of like the Germans.

They are good and valuable allies now. Especially with what’s going on I that region.

I don’t know if they’re the same people now. We don’t seem to be either.

Great video..thanks for posting.

Notice the multiple references to "remote, unoccupied islands.."

The narrator sounds like George Takei ( Mr. Sulu ) from Star Trek..

One last thought..the videos didn't mention Japan having a few nukes to back it all up..just like Israel...keep it quiet...while remembering what Palin said at CPAC.."what deters a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with one.."

On the surface, it seems Japanese men are wusses now, would rather play video games. But give them a reason to fight, and they will. "Battle Royale" is on Netflix, a 2000 movie where Japanese school kids are pitted against each other to the death. Interesting movie (the much later "Hunger Games" is similar in concept).

“I hope the Chinese remember their WWII lessons well about what a small island country can do when it gets riled up. The Japanese are peaceful now, best let them stay that way, sort of like the Germans.”

Unlike the Germans (who dominate the united continental Europe as Hitler imagined), the Japanese are reliant on US protection while they have two menacing neighbors (Red China and their North Korean puppet state); imagine how terrified they must be with our weak token president in office.

I have no objection to Japan re-arming; in fact, it is probably in our best interests. The people who led them in WWII are dead; today’s Japanese had no hand in that.
