Rationed Food and Purposeful Starvation
Canada Free Press ^ | October 28, 2013 | Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

I remember our daily food always coming from a long, long line at the end of which was a loaf of bread, a liter of milk, a stick of butter, a bottle of murky cooking oil, or a kilo of bones with traces of meat and fat on them.

[...]

If we wanted to eat, we learned at a very young age that we had to stand in long lines every day, often in bitter cold at 4 a.m. in hopes that the store would not run out of bread or milk by the time we made it to the front counter.

[...]

It wasn’t that the country did not produce enough food in spite of its disastrous centralized communist party planning. The mad dictator Ceausescu was determined to industrialize the country at the expense of people’s food – he exported so much to the West in exchange for technology and hard currency that the Romanians had to make do with the leftover food not fit for export.

[...]

But that was nothing compared to the Soviet plan to starve the Romanian population of Bessarabia in 1946-1947 in order to achieve collectivization. According to the 1897 census, almost 48% of the population was Moldovan and thus spoke Romanian. Bessarabia and Northern Bucovina were Romanian-held prior to the military occupation by the Soviet Red Army during June 28-July 4, 1940. To avoid a military conflict, Romania withdrew from the area following a Soviet ultimatum delivered on June 26. The Romanian province was recaptured by Ion Antonescu from 1941-1944 and then reoccupied by the Soviets in 1944. The regions were subsequently incorporated into the USSR....

Learn from history. Do not tolerate those who would create such conditions. As they will do violence to enforce their means and ends, let them know they will not escape the same as individuals enforce their rights.

I was a little too young to understand what was going on but i do not think it all came about over night, by the time people became aware it was too late.

Is it too late here or can we stop it.

The agricultural five year plan was developed by communist bureaucrats who were community organizers with very little experience at producing anything and very little formal education. They were schooled in the fine art of radical agitation.

Sound familiar?

Yes, it does sound familiar and the author knows of where she speaks because she was born and raised in communist Romania.

It was a different time and I can certainly understand the longing for a more perfect world. It was probably only a hundred years ago that average men for the first time were able to earn enough so they had some spare time to enjoy the fruits of their labor. So it was only natural to ask, “Why cannot we feed the world.” And the answer came back, “Government power can do that.”

Well some of us learned that wasn’t the case and said, “Stop the slaughteer.” But others learned that a politician’s appeal to the basest of human instincts can result in a cushy life-style. So there’s your greed and it needs to be pointed out and then maybe one day we will feed the world.

This article shows - at least to me - that if these times come to America - preppers will be no better off than people like me. You can’t hide foodstuffs from evil people determined to find it and steal it.

My idea of being a prepper is to have enough essentials to provide for you and your loved ones to outlast an initial shock of a catastrophe, maybe up to 3 months. If it is really bad, with rationing and hunting, perhaps a year. Anything longer than that and we will probably be pooling resources with others in a tribal community.

The way we’re going, there’s a good chance this will not only come to America, but will be willingly voted in, probably under some banner about making sure everyone has food.

Everyone in the world knows what COMMUNISM does to the country and the people in it, but yet, there are still people that will vote for LIBERALS, SOCIALISTS AND COMMUNISTS in every country that they run in. Look what COMMUNISM has done in Venezuela. Look what they’ve done to GREECE. Look what they’ve done to SPAIN. And closer to us, look what LIBERALS, SOCIALISTS and COMMUNISTS have done to every town, city or state in this country. All I hear from these stupid voters, when a liberal, socialist or communist politician that runs for election is “HE’S FOR THE PEOPLE” or “SHE’S FOR THE PEOPLE”. Are these voters that stupid?

My wife grew up in a culture where they never had enough food, clothing or other essentials.
Although she’s been a US citizen for 40+ years, old habits are hard to break.
She hoards food, medicine, and items of necessity. We could probably survive for 2 years or more on her stash.
I’m not going to change her, because it makes her feel secure.

Most sheeperal would vehemently deny that the policies they support would lead to such a thing - “that’s not what we’re doing/intending”.

I had a sheeperal last night vehemently deny that Obamacare was about control, even though I brought up numerous examples of loss of freedom of choice due to the new laws.

All she could say was “well, not everyone is going to be happy”.

Apparently they are. I know a few gun owners that still vote for Democrats, which makes NO sense at all.

Food has historically been one of the most effective weapons in a despot’s arsenal.

I do believe MO has been hounding us about food from the moment she became First Lady....does she just wish this power or is she trying to wield it? and she started with the children.
