Paula Deen shuts down restaurant without telling employees
FreakoutNation ^ | April 4, 2014 | Anomaly

Paul Deen and her ridiculously pathetic brother Bubba Hier shuttered ‘Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House’ and included in employees’ severance checks, which were collected in the parking lot, was a message, “Thank you for 10 great years. Uncle Bubba’s is now closed.”

So far so good, except employees that stood in the parking lot of the business that was the center of Deen’s racism scandal in 2013, were unaware the business was closing until they were greeted with that message of gratitude for their dedicated work.

What more did they deserve? Anything she says will be put out in the media.

Yes, exactly what I was thinking. It sounds like it was her brother’s place, not hers, anyway.

While it sounds bad it probably was the best way to go. If you get all your employees, especially food service and public contact employees pi$$ed off they could do substantial damage to your business assets and cause a large number of law suits to be brought down on the owners. Its the way things are.

I don’t blame her for just shutting down with no comment as ANY comment could be used against her.

Talk about being unfairly tried and convicted in the court of liberal public opinion....

Yeah. And if the leftist freakouts hadn’t attacked Paula Deen for what seems to have been a harmless comment many years ago, all those guys would still have their jobs.

Blame the race baiters, not Paula Deen.

Chit. If I were her, I’d close every d@mn one of my enterprises, sit on my pile-o-cash and ENJOY life from here on out.

Who needs this PC cr@pola?

She said she’s paying severance and going to try to find them jobs. If she does that, she’s not a very bad employer. Should have been done at a company meeting, of course.

Happened to me twice at software companies. Never made the 10 o’clock news. In fact one time it happened on a payday, and we didn’t get paid. Boo freaking hoo.

Unless they had contracts stating that they would get a notice a certain length of time before hand, sounds like they did OK.

Well thank God the other of this piece of tripe was free of agenda and gave a balanced report. And I suppose we should just take the word of of this hater because......? I believe two things in this trash, Paula Deen and her Brother shut down the restaurant and they gave their employees severance and thanks for service.

Paula Deen's kitchenware is made in China. Yup, good ol' wave the flag Paula Deen doesn't give a damn about US workers anymore than any other "brander" does.

I despise those who put their name on Chinese crap. I despise the most the hypocrites who wave the flag while doing so.

She could write cookbooks at her leisure and make even more money with less aggravation.
