While I’d love to see zero-based budgeting, I think we should refer to Bill Clinton’s last budget at $1.8T in spending. We should budget based on that level plus inflation. Tactically, it might work to prove that we are spending enough, even if we cut spending from $3.8T to $2.7T - it’s still 50% more than under Clinton, which should be enough if they would spend responsibly instead of using our tax dollars to reward those with connections.

I find it disgusting when Republicans or “conservatives” brag that their tax plan/cuts will bring in more money.
