...a Sodom and Gomorrah that just happens to have a free-market economic system.

A true free-market economic system would include allowing businesses to fire people for being homosexual. In a true free market economic system, businesses could turn away homosexuals.

And most of them would. But it's a controlled market system in that employers and landlords and theme parks and even adoption agencies risk harsh punishment by government, if they refuse to engage in commerce with homosexuals.

The best solution for this social issue is to remove the government component and let individuals decide whether or not they want to go along with the pretend marriage of two homosexuals. There are some who think "conservative" use of government is to use government to enforce Christian morality.

Then there are conservative Christians like me who understand that Christian morality's best friend is the sparing -- in other words, "conservative" -- use of government. The less government, the more moral the outcome.

Christians are to follow the SCRIPTURES. Still many do not keep even the basic things consistently.

Romney is one man. His influence was not Christian on his view of the same sex agenda. It is not for us to hate him. We are to hate evil. Romney is Mormon (isn't he?). We all are given the ability to reason and think for our self. Christianity changes how we think... through Jesus Christ We are to love our brethren and pray for their salvation. Not to curse them.

When we have a positive effect on those with whom we come into daily contact, we are being like Jesus, who healed, blessed, and taught those he came into contact with for his time on earth. It is said by Jesus we are to be in HIS IMAGE Praise God! Amen.

Prayers up for America to return to our former faith and values. Thank Thee Father. Amen.

"The Republican Party is not going to give up on having quite a few people who do believe in traditional marriage. But the Republican Party also has to find a place for young people and others who don’t want to be festooned by those issues."

In other words - we won't represent your views in Washington, but support us anyway...

You ARE a cut-to-the-chase kinda guy, aren't you, Mort? {^) You said in 11 words what Rand pretended not to say in four times as many!

It comes down to your Truth Authority.

Scriptures do not change.

Human opinions without scripture change throughout history,
and no one can say that human opinions are any “righter” today than they were yesterday, 20, 200, or 2000 years ago, or 20 years from now, for that matter.

Well written, Finny. It’s government that’s imposing homosexuality and abortion on the public, not the other way around. If we accept the premise that Rand Paul actually wants smaller government, then how can he support all these judges who are imposing homosexual marriage against the express will of the people?

These libertines (er...libertarians) seem intent on imposing a libertine social agenda or at least doing nothing to stop it. They don’t respect the right of communities to decide their own standards which is the very essence of “small” government. As far as cutting government goes, the only area they seem intent on slashing is national defense, one of the few enumerated powers of the federal government that is legit.

Thank you for your kind words. Though you may rescind them when you learn that I differentiate, as does Palin and Cruz, between official Libertarian (big L) Libertarians (who are actually progressive leftists that advance the antithesis of limited smaller government and falsely label themselves "Libertarian" and have hijacked the meaning the same way that the left has hijacked the meaning of the word "gay") and self-described small-l libertarians.

Real libertarians in America are dominated by Americans who are good and moral folks who simply want government, especially the Federal government, off their backs. They include God-loving, God-fearing Americans such as my elderly and very Christian mother, a politically active conservative who voted straight Republican ticket all her life, starting in 1950, in every primary and every election, until 2012. She refused to vote for Romney. There will be people on here who will therefore slander my mother as being a pro homosexual perversity pro drug abuser pro abortion pro child pornography monster simply because she self-defines as small l libertarian.

Libertines and libertarians are very different from each other. However, it pleases the egos of a small but very loud and bullying (not to mention deceitful false witness-bearing) minority on FR to pretend otherwise. :^) If they said to my mother's face what they would say to her on FR, they would have their teeth knocked down their throats by some very angry good men, and rightly.

And another AMEN:

If we accept the premise that Rand Paul actually wants smaller government, then how can he support all these judges who are imposing homosexual marriage against the express will of the people?

And you're right about government imposing abortion, too. Nearly two thirds of the states rightly outlawed abortion, before Roe v Wade served to OVERRIDE them.

The “Terms of Surrendering Platform” to the Liberals in the GOP-E and DEMs is highly annoying especially when the primaries are just starting. I think some of the party elites want a Jebthro/Rand GOP ticket in 2016 and I’m not voting for it.

You are so right. I’m certainly no pro.

When it comes to anti-conservative liberaltarianism; I’m certainly a novice. My expertise is in conservative subjects. You know, the opposite of yours.

But I will do you a favor. Whenever I find yet another anti-conservative - liberdopian - Rand Paul - pro-porn - pro-dope - morality free - hiding behind the Constitution - George Soros friendly - open borders - all cops are scum - etc. etc. etc. article; I’ll ping you.

So you can ping your liberal pinglist.

(Your welcome)
