Colorado baker to stop making wedding cakes after losing discrimination case
CBS News ^ | May 31, 2014

The owner of a bakery in Lakewood said he will no longer sell wedding cakes after the Colorado Civil Rights Commission ruled he did discriminate against a gay couple when he refused to sell them a cake.

"We would close down the bakery before we would complicate our beliefs," Phillips said after the hearing, according to CBS Denver. Phillips also admitted he had refused service to other same-sex couples.

The commission also ordered the baker to submit quarterly reports about the customers he refuses to serve and retrain employees to serve everyone.

They will not stop until every bit of goodness and decency has been trampled into the ground. Then they will ask, “Whatever could have gone wrong?”

When are they going to force churches to marry gays?

Good luck with that.

Phillips also admitted he had refused service to other same-sex couples.

More dishonesty from the left (pretty much all they have). He does not "refuse service" to same-sex couples - he was not, however, going to create a specific product to cater to their lifestyle - a same-sex wedding cake. He would have sold and provided them anything else that they wanted - he does not find out people are gay and send them out the door. "Refuse service" is another bold-faced lie by the left and the media so they can create a false narrative.

Totally ridiculous.

Ten bucks says he’ll keep making wedding cakes for family, friends, and trusted associates. If anyone from the communist thought police takes him to task for it, his defense will be: “It wasn’t a wedding cake.”

retrain employees to serve everyone

Quite beside the point. I'm sure his business would sell a dozen donuts to any homosexual who wanted them, before, during, and after the legal mess. It's about aiding and abetting an abominable "wedding" activity.

Colorado Civil Rights Commission

Oh, good. I'm so glad to learn our new PC name for a star chamber. Maybe we can resuscitate some of the group therapy sessions from Maoist China, and those who refuse to go along with the left can be struggled against and sent down to the countryside.

Freedom to practice one’s religion is a CONSTITUTIONAL right

Constitutional rights TRUMP any statutory “right”

This is BS . . good for the owner

I’d sue the bigoted “Commission” for violation of my Freedom of Religion

And people, support this bakery

Fascists never think they're fascists.

They just think everybody should obey them.

Yet again showing that the militant “gay rights” movement has nothing to do with expanding rights, but taking rights away from others. They could have just taken their money and business somewhere else - but that’s not enough - they have to try to smear and harass someone who doesn’t share their beliefs out of business.

These bakers and photographers can’t be expected to be the front line in this ongoing war, as the Gaystapo wins these battles just by bringing the lawsuit.

But I don’t know where the front line really is. The voting booth? More lawsuits, as often as necessary, until they get the result they want. The executive branch at either the state level or the federal level? They decline to enforce the relevant laws anyway.

I stand corrected, it’s tyranny by an unelected “commission”. How very Soviet:

INSANITY! I can't believe this isn't satire. We've gone over the edge. The frog is at full boil.

Orwell had it right. He was just off a few decades.

I’m glad they’re, the shop owners, doing what is right according to their beliefs.

Mullins, the faggot, is right when he says other gay couples won’t have to endure what he went through. That’s it whiney b!tch! Spoil it for everyone you narcissistic psycho.

You're right. Soldiers should be at the front line.

Any "civil rights commission" that took action against me for this kind of sh!t would need to replace all of its members.
