AARP of VA endorses Obamacare/Medicaid expansion, says call the Gov. (BARF ALERT)
From an email

Hard-working Virginians deserve access to affordable health care.

This may be Virginia's last chance to expand Medicaid.

Contact Gov. McAuliffe today and urge him to veto the state budget!

Gov. McAuliffe has a tough decision to make before this Sunday at midnight: whether to sign or veto the state budget.

Why? Because state legislators sent the governor a budget that does not include expanding Medicaid for hard-working Virginians who earn up to $16,000 a year. These 400,000 Virginians are our friends, neighbors, family. Many are age 50-64, struggling in jobs without health benefits. They are counting on state lawmakers to expand Medicaid so they will have access to affordable health coverage. This may be Virginia’s last opportunity to expand Medicaid this year. If the commonwealth doesn’t act now: 400,000 hard-working Virginians will remain without access to affordable health coverage.

Virginia will lose money – specifically federal funds to pay for Medicaid expansion, 100% for two years and at least 90% thereafter.

Virginians without access to affordable health coverage will continue to lack preventative care that reduces the need for expensive emergency room care – and eases emergency room overcrowding that threatens us all.

Now is the time to tell Gov. McAuliffe to fight for hard-working Virginians: Veto the state budget and bring state lawmakers back to the table to make Medicaid expansion a reality for hard-working Virginians.

Contact Gov. McAuliffe today and urge him to veto the state budget because it does not include Medicaid expansion to help 400,000 hard-working Virginians. Sincerely,

Peter Goldin AARP Virginia

Just another reason I would NEVER join AARP....they are a mouthpiece for the left.

I joined AMAC instead: http://amac.us/

“These 400,000 Virginians are our friends, neighbors, family.”

Therefore you as a Virginian should pay for their healthcare. By the way, get back to work.

I am 67. When I was 50 my mother signed me up to AARP as a birthday present. I didn’t know much about them at the time.

Then the newspaper and the magazine started. I never renewed membership. The paper stopped after a few years and I got the magazine until I was about 60.

They still send me a card and membership renewal slip even year.

Oh well, it’s there dime.

AARP is in it for the money selling gap insurance. It’s all about the almighty dollar. Pure and simple. They don’t give a flying carp about anyone’s health.

The only thing AARP cares about is lining it’s own pockets, they consistently lobby for things that actually hurt seniors
