Earlier in the briefing, Earnest took a question from Jon-Christopher Bua, a Huffington Post columnist, about whether President Barack Obama had spoken to European leaders, in a question that dealt with Iraq.
In what was the last formal question of the briefing, Bloomberg reporter Roger Runningen asked about a call that morning between Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
When veteran journalist Bill Plante commented that Earnest’s response offered a “buried nugget of news,” Earnest shot back that “it took Roger’s nose for news to ask.”

It’s about time. These reporters need to realize their job is to sell the White House’s message to their readers, not think for themselves. They need to get back in line and do their jobs.
Obama has 3 more to go through to equal Clinton and Bush. Kinda surprised that Obama has only gone through 2 in six years.

Without reference to the parties involved, one would conclude that Obama was better at picking out people with thick skins and little conscience. Although, as compliant as the WH press corps is (”corpse” really would fit in this case :) I don’t think the thick skin is really needed.

It is certainly the case with Jay Carney. I was absolutely shocked by the absolute zero moral authority he possessed. He might be the best liar I have seen (besides Obama). If he runs for politics, he might actually be successful.
