More Americans disapprove than approve of Barack Obama’s response to the situation in Iraq, even while the public broadly agrees with his decision not to send U.S. combat forces there.
The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll marks the difficulties Obama faces in crafting a popular response to the deepening crisis. Two-thirds oppose sending ground troops to fight the Sunni insurgents in Iraq, a step the president himself ruled out last week. Regardless, just 42 percent approve of the way he’s handling the situation, while 52 percent disapprove.
The public divides evenly on another potential option, the use of air strikes.

Americans are slowly waking up. I hope.
The truth is obama has sent 300+ ground troops. 300+ ground troops were sent they (obama and skerry) just conveniently called them advisors. Hope obama and skerry did not set them up to leave behind. Is time for a work around U.S. Military because nobody can trust obama and his crowd. Those isis creatures advancing on Baghdad are obama’s army.
I’m afraid the only thing that will convince the public is another terror attack on our soil.

Easy to balance. Most think Obama blew it big time, and lost he war Bush won. But don’t want to start over in that hell hole.
The disapproval is about how it came to this (inaction) and Obama’s foreign policy as a whole. There are no good options now and that hold for not just Iraq. ABC is confounded (not really) about why everything isn’t all peachy now...by god there’s an “agreement”.
