Buyer's Remorse: If voters had it to do over, Romney in a landslide

Polls which ask voters for their thoughts on how the last election should have shaped up a year or two years after the fact are pretty much meaningless. The latest CNN/ORC survey which asks voters that question is no exception to that rule. Nevertheless, with just 100 days remaining before the midterm elections, this question is an instructive measurement of voter satisfaction with the president.

If voters had it to do all over again, 53 percent would support Mitt Romney over the 44 percent who would continue to back Barack Obama. The president’s remaining coalition is what you would expect it to be; voters aged 18 – 34, Northeasterners, Democrats, self-identified liberals and moderates, urban and minority voters.

Where the president suffers the most in this survey is among women. CNN/ORC found that women voters backed Romney over Obama by 52 to 45 percent. That is almost identical to the margins among male voters (54/43 percent) and dramatic reversal from 2012 when the nationwide exit polls showed women backed Obama by double digits (55/44 percent).

There is not much in the way of good news for Obama in this poll. A majority say Obama is not a “strong and decisive leader.” By 56 to 43 percent, voters say Obama does not agree with them on the issues they “care about.” Only 42 percent say Obama can manage the government effectively; 57 percent believe he cannot.

Did I tell everybody I almost hit the lottery last weekend? I just didn’t have any of the numbers you needed to win.

Buyer’s remorse and two dollars will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Bad coffee at that.

Actually, if I had it to do over again, I’d have stayed home and not voted for him like I did.

I’m done with Republican statists and RINOs. Never again. The only possible candidates for whom I’d now vote are a very exclusive few. And none of the names being posited now are part of that few.

Principles over Promise - Action over Appeasement.

If any of the 65 million traitors who voted for Traitorobama were to have REAL, rather than phoney, remorse, they would not deliberately continue to steal oxygen.

"If voters had it to do over..."

The media would go into advanced attack mode and fool even more people. The democrats would head into central America with millions of absentee ballots and Candy Crowley, transcript in hand, would lead the charge to guarantee the same result.

All Romney had to do was appeal to his base. You know, act conservative? It was his for the taking and he blew it.

I'm guessing this doesn't factor in the rampant voter fraud that has become a dem artform and is freely allowed by the GOP-e.

Speaker “Blank Check” Boehner keeps “Free for All” Obama in power by not controlling spending or Impeaching Obama.

“Gridlock” Reid shuts down the DEMOCRAT BROTHERHOOD GOVERNMENT, (DBG), anytime that Boehner refuses to write Obama a Blank Check.

“Free for All” Obama is more than happy to play hooky from his day job and fly around on the taxpayer’s dime to raise Campaign money for “Gridlock” Reid’s Senate Candidates, and the DBG.

“Blank Check” Boehner is the key man to allow “Free for All” Obama to continue to fundamentally transform America, and Obama knows it.

Force Boehner to resign, and Obama will be at the mercy of New Speaker Jim Jordan or Trey Gowdy.

Keep Boehner as Speaker and there is very little reason to expect Mid-Term Voters to find an effective difference between Republicans and Democrats.

I'm guessing Romney would win a couple more states, probably Florida for sure, and some of the close U.S. Senate elections might have gone our way, but that's about it.

Never, ever underestimate the power of the enemedia to herd Democrat sheep.

GOP inclined voters are more like cats, not at all easy to herd, but they can be led if you have someone decent with whom to lead.

I think Candy-eating Crowley’s biased interjecting lie really neutered Romney’s message regarding theOne’s foreign policy . . . as it was intended to do. Why is it that the acknowledged “fact-checkers” are all leftists?

We don’t have a time machine to re-vote 2012 however the GOP could be trying to make each Dem running this year own Obama.

Does Obama campaign/fundraise in their states?

If Romney had won, the left would still be pining over 0bama and cry "stolen election".
The MSM's ripped Bush apart every day, Romney would have fared no better.
With the media boost 0bama would have won hands down in 2016.
No? Remember; right or wrong, good or bad does not matter. Image is everything.

I think it’s funny that folks think the GOP doesn’t do the same thing (perhaps a bit more artfully than the Ds).

There’s a reason no one in authority on either side barks about it.

The deals were cut as to who gets which district/seat ahead of time.

The GOP is not now, nor has it been for a long time, a party of any actual morality. They are politicians.
