NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Mothers who give birth in areas with higher concentrations of African-Americans are less likely to get breastfeeding support on maternity wards than mothers in other communities, a new study shows.
Breastfeeding provides well-documented health benefits to infants and their mothers. But African-American women are about 16 percent less likely to nurse their newborns than white women, according to research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Oh for the love of God...
It’s pretty simple. I’ll break it down for the black women who actually need “help” with this.
Infant cries when it is hungry.
Hold infant firmly but gently.
Insert your nipple into the mouth of the infant.
99.9% of the time nature will take its course.

No, it couldn’t possibly be their own choice not to breastfeed - it’s got to be whitey keeping them from doing it. Anyone who disagrees is obviously a racist.
Only Reuters could make breast feeding a RACIST issue....sheesh
They can’t show up to vote in off year elections even with 2/3 of the population in Ferguson, MO. Now they can’t figure out how to breastfeed. If I were an American that were black I would get so sick of being patronized that I am not capable of doing anything.
If God had wanted black women to breastfeed, He would have given them tits.
Breast Deserts!!!
that’s creepy
sho NUFF creepy
only the BEST for Revrunt Sharptongue....
Yes he is.
Das wafo dey fo.
Who has time to breastfeed when ya gotta go to da club.
Just drop little Da'shaw'n off with grandma. Is formula expensive? Who knows. WIC pays for it.
Why do I get the feeling we will be seeing this as an issue if the Dems nominate Dizzy Miss Lizzie or Princess Hillary in 2016?
Wait...I thought they were on the teet?
They’re not doing it right?
Hmmmm....SUCKS...
Come on, they have free formula powder shoved at them by the same SOBs that hand them a pamphlet about why they should breastfeed. You think they're gonna read the pamphlet or get Grammy to show them how to mix a bottle?
It’s all so laughable. I can’t believe people write these stories and keep a straight face.
Your an optimist - wait till MSNBC,ABC,CBS,PBS,NYT,LAT, find out about this.
True Story:
My wife was endowed with better than average sized breasts, OK they where big. Never was able to breast feed. Tried like hell with the first kid. Never worked, never produced enough milk. Just your average case of false advertising.
Other four, right to the bottle.
