AARP is calling out (Democrat congressional candidate Martha) Robertson for improperly using AARPs name in her ads, violating AARPs non-partisan status and falsely implying that AARP has taken sides in the race....
Beth Finkel, state director for AARP in New York, issued a statement after learning of its name and logo appearing in the Ithaca Democrats campaign ads in the race for the 23rd Congressional District seat currently held by U.S. Rep. Tom Reed, R-Corning.
AARP does not endorse candidates or make contributions to political campaigns or candidates, Finkel said. AARP did not authorize the use of its name or logo in currently running Martha Robertson campaign ads.

AARP is just complaining they didn’t get their cut.
AARP is not a good organization.
They supported Obamacare big time
Perhaps...but the AARP is to the left of Barbara Boxer and Elizabeth Warren (How! Sorry for the Indian lingo)
Once I wasn't careful about cutting off my name and address information when I returned it. They stopped sending them to me for awhile.
But they are doing it again and so am I.
AARP bent over for obamacare enough said
“falsely implying that AARP has taken sides in the race....”
That was good for a big chuckle.
The AARP?
The same bunch that threw their own members out of meetings when those members dared question or complain about Obamacare?
Yes, but it’s fun to watch lefties eat their own for once. And if it helps keep Robertson out of office, I like it.
AARPs non-partisan status? Really? When did they start that?
AARP has but one primary purpose....self perpetuation nothing else.
I also put some of my NRA literature in the prepaid envelope. I try to make it as fat a possible so they have to pay the oversize charge. Since they are generally a bunch of heathens I also try to include some religious tracs when available.
My AARP envelopes never come postage paid. What I am doing wrong?
for AARP to claim that they are non-partisan is possibly the joke of the century....they lean so far to the left that they are almost an arm of the democrat party.
Every once in a while they will send it out without a prepaid envelope, but hang in there they will eventually send it out with one because their response rate is so low without prepaids.
Make sure that your name, address, offer code, etc. are not included in your return bonanza. I routinely put the “supplemental health insurance” stuff in the AARP envelope. A lot of the AARP stuff I put in the supplemental health insurance or other “free” offers prepaids.
Since I have informed them repeatedly to stop sending their crap, I don’t feel the slightest bit guilty about stuffing their envelopes.
Don’t worry about me accidentally sending back identifying information. I’ve gotten offers like this in the past from the Sierra Club and other lefty organizations including my college alma mater. My MO is usually to print out something attacking their organization (preferably multiple pages) and fill the envelope with that.
Non partisan? Ha!
