Poll: Perdue surges ahead of Nunn [women driving surge]; Deal leads Carter

Republican David Perdue h as surged ahead of Democrat Michelle Nunn in the race to fill the senate seat being vacated by retiring U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, according to the latest poll by SurveyUSA conducted for Atlanta Business Chronicle broadcast partner WXIA-TV.

With less than a week to go before the election, Perdue has 48 percent of the vote. Nunn has 45 percent. In a SurveyUSA poll last week, Nunn held 46 percent of the vote and Perdue had 44 percent.

Libertarian Senate candidate Amanda Swafford polled at 3 percent. Five percent of voters are undecided.

Perdue's gain is credited to an increase in support from women voters. In the governor's race, Republican incumbent Nathan Deal has 46 percent of the vote, while Democrat challenger Jason Carter has 44 percent. Libertarian candidate Andrew Hunt is at 3 percent. Six percent of voters are undecided.

Among those who have already voted, Deal leads by 9 points, SurveyUSA said.

“Compared to a WXIA-TV pre-election tracking poll one week ago, Democrat Michelle Nunn is upside down. One week ago, Nunn led Republican David Perdue by 2 points, 46% to 44%. Today, in a dramatic reversal, Perdue is on top, 48% to 45%, a 5-point right turn in one of the nation’s most high-visibility contests. Polling for Atlanta’s WXIA-TV 11Alive was conducted by SurveyUSA.

Where in the Senate race is there movement poll-on-poll? Among women, where Perdue had trailed by 13 points and now trails by just 2. And among core Republicans, where Perdue’s 84-point advantage is the largest it has been in 7 WXIA-TV tracking polls going back to 08/18/14. There is movement to Perdue among seniors, where he now leads by 25 points. Worse for Nunn: among voters who tell SurveyUSA they have already returned a ballot, Perdue leads by 10 points........”

I don’t think it’s that close at all, really. It is going to be tough for Perdue to knock off the 50%+1 because of the Libertarian candidate, but in a runoff, she has an even worse chance.

I think it appears worse because of Georgia Media and Georgia Political Analysts trying to keep up the image that she will win. She has no credible background save that of having a Maiden Name - Nunn - for which she has forsaken her husband’s last name to run for this election.

Here’s my assessment of Michelle and Jason. In the first case, “the apple fell very far from the tree,” and in the latter, “it fell as close as it could get.”

Rush has shed light on the subject. The phenomenon is wide spread.

The poll results 6 months and more recent than two or three weeks before the election are about shaping public opinion.

Beginning two or three weeks before the election, the reputation of the pollsters comes into play and they become more accurate. They can’t make money if they develop a reputation for being wrong in the end

The MSM also wants to project a narrative of a close race, no matter the reality, to drive the campaigns to purchase ads. It's all a big game to the MSM; public be damned.

Here's the future in Democrat World: Clinton, Nunn and Carter. And for GOP RINOs, the future is named Bush.

Just vote no.

Never trust a politician that changes their last name to run on their Daddy’s reputation because they can not run on their own last name and accomplishments.

Fortunatelly somebody in Perdue’s campaign had the imagination to put up a TV ad with about 5 women talking him up one after the other. I’m sure that helped. It was the only ad he put up that was any good.

Dropped her married name did she? Figures.

We have a legacy pol running here in Illinois, PAUL SIMON’s daughter is the current Lt. Governor (a powerless post in this state) and she’s running for Comptroller.

Zero doubt about patenity, she looks exactly like him, save for the lack of bow tie.

BOOM! ELBERT GUILLORY WARNS BLACK VOTERS THAT MICHELLE NUNN WILL BE NO DIFFERENT THAN FORMER LIBERAL “OVERSEERS”

Elbert Guillory tells the hard truth to black voters in Georgia that Michelle Nunn will be no different than all the other liberal “overseers” they’ve voted for in the past. Despite her being put forth as their new redeemer, Guillory tells blacks that they are just being used so that the royal scepter can be passed down from one generation to another and she can ascend into power.

The differnce with the GOP is that they don’t wait for the second generation to launch a dynasty, they go with zombies: think Thad Cochran and Pat Roberts.

Is this another case where the pollsters now correct themselves before the election to maintain credibility?
