Chicago is a heavily unionized city and union contracts escalate with the minimum wage. Not ‘unexpected’ at all.

Every year a professional society I belong to has its annual meeting in Chicago.

I refuse to go as I refuse to support this criminal city. I have never been to the meeting.

I emailed the director of the meeting about when the meeting would be held elsewhere. I got no response.

I'm going to guess that, if the minimum wage is LOWERED, union contracts do NOT also lower union wages.
