United Nations (United States) (AFP) - Israel was asked by the UN General Assembly on Friday to compensate Lebanon for $856.4 million in oil spill damages it caused during its 2006 war with Hezbollah.
The non-binding vote, which passed 170-6, asks Israel to offer "prompt and adequate compensation" to Lebanon and other countries affected by the oil spill's pollution.
In a statement, Israel condemned the resolution as biased against the nation, Israeli media reported.
The oil spill was caused by Israel's air force when it bombed oil tanks near a coastal Lebanese power plant during the fierce month-long war with Hezbollah fighters.

If the United Nations function has been reduced to the restriction of food crop access to carbon dioxide in the air and punishing Israel for defending itself, then the UN has no practical justification for its continued existence.
This has been going on since the 1947 Partition Plan.
Let's face it, the UN, that is, the world is damn sorry they “gave” (fought for by Israel) the Jews a nation.
Ever since the creation of the State of Israel, the UN has done it's utmost to cancel that decision and state. The UN is a body that should move to Cuba, North Korea, Iran or Putin's Russia. There, they can feel more at home.
With 100,000 dead Arabs in Syria, slaughter to the right, rape, mayhem and bloodshed to the left, the UN should concentrate on REAL, SEROIUS trouble spots in the world.
Apparently they stay together because Jewhating is more fun when you do it as a group.
Apparently Obama is running out of other peoples’ money to give to terrorists.

Also by a recorded vote of 170 in favour and 6 against (Australia, Canada, Israel, Marshall Islands, Micronesia (Federated States of), United States), and 3 abstentions (Cameroon, Papua New Guinea, Tonga), the Assembly adopted the text on oil slick on Lebanese shores. By the text, it requested that Israel assume responsibility for prompt and adequate compensation to Lebanon and other directly affected countries for the costs of repairing the environmental damage caused by the slick. Further, it encouraged Member States and the international donor community to continue their financial and technical support to Lebanon towards achieving the completion of clean-up and rehabilitation operations.

I disagree only with “now.”
I’d like to “ask” the UN to pay the US $300,000,000,000,000 for all the damage they have done to civilization, in general.
