In Mall of America protest, charges considered against organizers

The Bloomington city attorney is pursuing criminal charges against the organizers of a protest inside the Mall of America after police shut down stores for about two hours during the demonstration. City Attorney Sandra Johnson tells WCCO-TV (http://cbsloc.al/1JNVUll) that mall officials are figuring out how much money stores lost on Saturday. Johnson is also figuring out the cost of overtime for police, and she expects to file criminal charges soon. Johnson said she wants organizers of the police brutality protest to pay restitution. She's focusing on those who kept promoting the rally after they were told it was prohibited on private property. "The main perpetrators are those who continued on their Facebook site to invite people illegally to the Mall of America," she said. Police officers locked down about 80 stores and several mall entrances after protesters started chanting. "This was a powder keg just waiting for a match," Johnson said. No injuries or property damage were reported. Police are reviewing protesters' social media accounts and video from inside the mall.

One of the protest organizers is a law prof at local ST.Thomas. She argues it’s not really private preoprty since MOA received $250 million (and counting) of taxpayer $.

So I guess it should also be permissable to protest inside Planned Parenthood...

As a store owner; i would be furious beyond measure at these jerks for stealing a big chunk of revenue from me at one of the prime days of the selling season.
Inexcusable.

What the hell did it take law enforcement to finally realize these terrorists are paid to riot. They have been violating the law by not having permits and blocking roadways. Bust heads and arrest the organizers including Sharpton.

"....she wants organizers to pay restitution".

That's a laugh-and-a-half right there. Most of these anarchists and doofuses undoubtedly exist on some kind of public dole or other......or on professional-protestor income. They only have other peoples' money, none of their own.

How does the prosecutor think she can squeeze blood out of the stoned?

They should let the mall shoppers do some vigilante justice on those protester idiots.

The problem is, taxpayers fund damn near everything in one way or another with all these “public/private partnerships”...almost always involuntary on the taxpayer part.

Only way you stop this is to go after the organizers.
