Listen to Muslim prayer call on UCLA campus. 'This is an act of Islamic supremacism'

A commentator for American Thinker is calling on supporters to contact campus officials to protest the fact that a Muslim call to prayer is being broadcast on the campus of UCLA – a “publicly funded institution.”

“This in an act of Islamic supremacism,” writes Carol Brown. “If Muslim students at UCLA can’t figure out how to tell time or keep track of when they need to pray, that’s their problem.”

Her column provides online links for a long list of UCLA officials, including President Janet Napolitano and many more, specifically including contacts for a list of corporate donors to the university.

“The call to prayer is something that is blasted over loudspeakers in Muslim majority countries and Muslim enclaves around Detroit,” Brown wrote. “We’ve already heard enough ‘Allahu Akbar’ for a lifetime.” She said “fighting creeping Shariah requires constant vigilance.”

The concern arose in the wake of a controversy over an announcement by Duke University – later withdrawn – to have the Muslim prayer call blasted across its campus on Fridays. The move by school officials had surprised the dean of the Duke Divinity School, who was not consulted, according to a Washington Post report.

Dean Richard Hays said, “Any decision to permit the use of a prominent Christian place of worship as a minaret for Muslim proclamation will, in our time, have immediate global repercussions. Any discussion about such a proposal should take into careful account the perspective of millions of Christians living in Islamic societies where their faith is prohibited or persecuted.”

Among those protesting the school move was Franklin Graham, the son of Billy Graham, who asked donors to “withhold their support from Duke until this policy is reversed.” Shortly after, the university reversed its decision, citing “security concerns.”

Call the “Freedom from Religion” people, I’m sure they’ll be all over this. Or are they just anti-Chistian?

Evidently “Separation of Church and State” only applies to Christianity.

What is it being broadcast from? The issue at Duke was the use of a Christian - I hesitate to call it a mere chapel because it's one of the biggest and most beautiful churches I've seen - bell tower to broadcast it. Are they using a Christian church at UCLA?

I hope UCLA enrollment plummets.

Then they can fire Napolitano and the school will be a poster child for what not to do.

This is your school after Muslim prayer calls....

I try not to listen to, or take part in pagan rituals. Especially ones that practice forms of human sacrifice, like Islam.

Christian Prayer Call

The Angelus Latin for "angel is a Catholic devotion commemorating the Incarnation. As with many Catholic prayers, the name Angelus is derived from its incipit: Angelus Domini nuntiavit Mariæ ("... the Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary ...") and is practiced by reciting as versicle and response three Biblical verses describing the mystery; alternating with the prayer "Hail Mary!" The Angelus exemplifies a species of prayers called the prayer of the devotee.[1] The devotion was traditionally recited in Roman Catholic churches, convents, and monasteries three times daily: 6:00 am, noon, and 6:00 pm (many churches still follow the devotion, and some practice it at home).[2] The devotion is also used by some Anglican and Lutheran churches. The Angelus is usually accompanied by the ringing of the Angelus bell, which is a call to prayer and to spread good-will to everyone. The angel referred to in the prayer is Gabriel, a messenger of God who revealed to Mary that she would conceive a child to be born the Son of God. (Luke 1:26–38).

I'd say the Muzzies have us Catholics three to five but then we Catholics don't even do this anymore. Guess it's a matter of Faith or the absence of punishment.

Duke is a private university, UCLA is public, so I doubt there could be any sort of church on the UCLA campus.
