Ted Cruz wows Iowans with sermon-style political speech and corny Islam jokes: Those 9/11 hijackers 'weren't a bunch of ticked off Presbyterians'

Ted Cruz is running for president, unless he's engaged in a method-acting experiment to prepare for a movie role – as a senator who's running for president by channeling his preacher father.

At the Iowa Freedom Summit, the Texas Republican senator boomed a Reaganesque sermon complete with G-rated jokes, scripture references – 'You shall know them by their fruits – and an altar call of sorts.

'Text the word "Constitution",' he implored, to a specific number. It was an Obama-like organizing stroke that no one else at the Saturday conservative cattle call thought of.

But then no one else shouted with with consistency that occasional moments of normal volume were packed with whisper-like drama.

Love him or hate him, Ted Cruz is a powerful communicator. The Princeton graduate has a debating award named for him there. He worked without notes and hired hands followed his departure from the stage by re-erecting the omnipresent teleprompter.

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Cruz's father is a controversial preacher who advocated sending Barack Obama 'back to Kenya' and said gay marriage is about abolishing God from the public arena

So what's controversial about him?

From the article:
'Our rights, they don't come from government,' he said Saturday. 'They come from God almighty.'

Strange, coverage from a UK paper - silence from US sources.

Strange, coverage from a UK paper - silence from US sources.

Not when you consider the motivation of all US Major News Agencies, including FoxNews is to try and kill the chances of any true conservative, especially those who are dead-set against Illegal Immigration and fighting the fight against Gay Marriage.

Wow.

Earlier video showed Scott Walker speaking without using the teleprompter.

Cruz is also speaking without relying on the teleprompter, too.

People usually do that when they speak from the heart, rather from standardized talkingpoints.

Should be passed around at every Sharpton, Jackson and "Black Lives Matter" rally.

This involves European liberalism, which the point is to emphasize that Europeans should boo conservatives down. Believe me, if there is an anti-Cruz demonstration there, even the U.S. press will cover it for the sake o saying that not electing a guy that Europeans like, such as Obama, will ruin our overseas reputation as a country. Same old message as 2008, and IMHO, same old bs, even if it’s from Europe.

I think more liberals streamed Cruz’ speech than conservatives: liberals out of fear, loathing, dread and intimidation.

If you live in North Korea or Venezuela or the like, you can’t find out what’s really happening by reading the official press; you need to read foreign sources.

Sadly, it is now that way in the usa today. What we’ve alway thought of as the media are really willing organs of the democrat-government complex.

The fact that the Left goes apoplectic every time they have to acknowledge Ted’s existence is the best endorsement he could receive.

'Our rights, they don't come from government,' he said Saturday. 'They come from God almighty.'

That's right, and it's we the people who authorize the government to exist.

I was pissed. I’ve been watching all day and Cruz is the only one they showed so far away from the lens. And every 20 seconds his speech was paused. It seems to me that Breightbart has an agenda. I’m pissed off.

""He's making all the right enemies.""

Now that's funny! True. But funny.
