On Fridays broadcast of MSNBCs José Díaz-Balart, Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-IL) reacted to the appointment of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) as chairman to Senate Judiciary Committees Subcommittee on Immigration.
According to Gutiérrez, the appointment was a mistake and called into question the Republican Partys desire to reemerge as a national party.
Well, let me just say, if the Republican Party wants to move forward as a national party, it has to stop thinking about simply the South, Gutiérrez said. They got it. They seem to win there.

Gutirrez needs to go and see the results of the last election, his party is very regional indeed
Hater he is....
Gutiérrez? The Latino Debbie Wasserman-Schultz?
Senator Sessions speaks and acts from conviction, great move by the Republicans to put Sessions in control of the committee concerning Immigration.
What a Johnny-One-Note.
LG is a Congressman from Mehico.
Actually it is a shocking move, it actually makes sense!
And I am sure that the Dims really want to help the Republicans win elections....
Says the guy whose party is the party of inner-cities.
The DNC would be dead if NYC and LA fell into the sea.
Me thinks our favorite Senator is over the target. He’s sure getting flak.
No Senor LUis, the GOP does not want to be a party national de mexico and perhaps Luis de traitor should re read that little old oath of office he swore and try and remember which country he is supposed to represent.
Luis, I seriously doubt Jeff wants the GOP to be a Venezuelan national party.
It’s worth re-telling Senator Session’s life story for the newbies here.
He was appointed to be a federal judge from Alabama, but the Senate refused to confirm him because Sessions is a strict Constitutionalist.
This enraged the great state of Alabama, so we elected him as a Republican to replace our previous Democratic Party Senator.
Upon entering the Senate, the GOP installed Senator Sessions to the Senate Judiciary Committee that had just voted down his federal judgeship appointment.
Boom!
Payback. They’ve had to work next to the guy who they turned down ever since. Well, the Dems who managed to stay in the Senate, anyway. Not so many of them around now.
Which begs the question:
What exactly is wrong with a Nationalist Party Señor Gutierrez?
You do realize that the last two presidents of México have the name “nacional” in their political party name right?
People legal citizens are fleeing states like IL for the South. Gutierezz wants the Dems to be the party of Honduras.
Yet they still had to gerrymander his district into a set of earmuffs
Gutierrez Is a puto!
I love Jeff Sessions! Our boneheads in the Senate are Mcpain and Flake!
One of the nation’s biggest ethnic hustlers throwing stones from his glass house.
Because following the advice of a corrupt, race-baiting, former Chicago driver is always the best course of action.
