Well I’m not so sure we should blame the Mosaic covenant for this. It was a covenant given with a warning, that the Hebrews couldn’t keep it. But they said oh sure we can, and so God took them at their word and sadly watched them fail. That’s why a Savior was needed.
I'm nor blaming the Mosaic covenant at all. I'm simply pointing out that we couldn't follow ten simple rules and here we are thousands of years later trying to create Heaven on Earth with millions of laws.
