ISIS closing in? Terror group seizes Iraqi town 5 miles from Marine base

Islamic State has reportedly seized al-Baghdadi, in Iraq’s Anbar Province, 5 miles from an air base staffed by U.S. Marines, as the terror group continues its push beyond its bases in Syria and Iraq in an attempt to establish militant affiliates in other countries.

Hundreds of Islamic State fighters reportedly captured most of al-Baghdadi, which is 55 miles from the capital Ramadi, on Thursday.

On Friday, Iraqi soldiers had retaken several government buildings, but the soldiers withdrew early Saturday, handing the town back to the militants, The New York Times reported, citing local security officials.

One local Iraqi official told Reuters that, "Ninety percent of al-Baghdadi district has fallen under the control of the insurgents."

Militants attacked the town of al-Baghdadi from two directions before advancing inward, Reuters reported.

According to the Pentagon, al-Baghdadi was the first territorial gain by the militant group in months.

On Sunday, a U.S. Central Command spokesman refuted reports that ISIS had taken al-Baghdadi. "Al-Baghdadi has not fallen to ISIL or been seized by them," said U.S. Central Command, in an email to Fox News. Al-Baghdadi is "contested" not "Daesh held," said the email, referring to ISIS as Daesh, the name used by Arab partners to refer to the terrorist group.

On Friday, following the attack on al-Baghdadi, Islamic state fighters led a suicide attack on the Ayn al-Asad air base, where U.S. Marines are training Iraqi troops.

USMC General Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller Quotes

“Paper-work will ruin any military force” - Lieutenant-General Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller

“You don’t hurt ‘em if you don’t hit ‘em.” - Lieutenant-General Lewis B. Chesty Puller

When an Army captain asked him for the direction of the line of retreat, Col Puller called his Tank Commander, gave them the Army position, and ordered: “If they start to pull back from that line, even one foot, I want you to open fire on them.” Turning to the captain, he replied “Does that answer your question? We’re here to fight.” At Koto-ri in Korea - Chesty Puller at Koto-ri in Korea (Quote from “Marine: The Life of Chesty Puller” by Burke Davis)

“The mail service has been excellent out here, and in my opinion this is all that the Air Force has accomplished during the war.” - Chesty Puller in a letter to his wife while in Korea

“Don’t forget that you’re First Marines! Not all the Communists in hell can overrun you!” - Chesty Puller motivating his men at Chosin Reservoir

“Our Country won’t go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won’t be any AMERICA because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race!” - Lt. Gen. Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller, USMC

“Take me to the Brig. I want to see the “real Marines”. ” - Major General Chesty Puller, USMC – while on a Battalion inspection.

“We’re surrounded. That simplifies the problem.” - Attributed to Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller, USMC (I have found three versions of this one) The quotes may not be Chesty Pullers, but may instead have been said by General O.P.Smith

“All right, they’re on our left, they’re on our right, they’re in front of us, they’re behind us…they can’t get away this time” - Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller, USMC

“They are in front of us, behind us, and we are flanked on both sides by an enemy that outnumbers us 29:1. They can’t get away from us now!” - Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller, USMC When the Marines were cut off behind enemy lines and the Army had written the 1st Marine Division off as being lost because they were surrounded by 22 enemy divisions. The Marines made it out inflicting the highest casualty ratio on an enemy in history and destroying 7 entire enemy divisions in the process. An enemy division is 16500+ men while a Marine division is 12500 men.

“They are a damn site better than the U.S. Army, at least we know that they will be there in the morning.” - Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller when a journalist asked him about being surrounded by 22. enemy divisions

“There are not enough chinamen in the world to stop a fully armed Marine regiment from going where ever they want to go” - Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller

This cannot be happening.

The pResident brought all the troops home from Iraq because the war was over!

Sarcasm aside, I will be praying for these brave men. I hope to God the asshat in chief does not simply abandon them to their fate.

Having leaders like “Chesty” would be great if dear leader odumbo would let them REALLY fight. I have no doubt our military is the best trained, best manned, best equipped military in the world but the way they are controlled eliminates any advantage(s) they have.

Doubtful these cowards would be silly enough to try and attack Marines. Its one thing to attack villages with poorly armed untrained people trying to defend the village its another to open your own personal can of whoopass...............

Reminds me of my time in Vietnam dealing with the ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM, (ARVN) soldiers.

The standard joke with U.S. military was:

"you want an arvn rifle? never been fired, only been dropped once"

As long as our Marines have plenty of ammo and get the air support and resupply they need, I hope ISIS attacks. It will be a killing ground!

Gates of Fire: Marines mirror Spartans Marine Forces Pacific
Pfc. Ethan Hoaldridge

MARINE CORPS BASE, CAMP H.M. SMITH, Hawaii (Nov. 16, 2007) — When today’s warriors read “Gates of Fire” by Steven Pressfield, they may have a sense of pride well up inside them. Why?

Not many would understand exactly why, except, perhaps, a Marine: the proud history and traditions that make us who we are relate so closely to the Spartans as they were depicted in the book. They were fierce warriors fighting for the brother on their left and right.

Marines have many things in common with the Spartan warriors who lived 2,500 years ago.

Pressfield’s book describes war heroes like King Leonidas, Dienekes and Polynikes who Spartans would revere and tell stories of to future soldiers. The Marines have heroes like Chesty Puller, John Basilone and recent Medal of Honor recipient Jason Dunham.

“Gates of Fire” is a novel of the Battle of Thermopylae and what led up to it – where a brave few stood against many. The story is told from the perspective of a helot, or slave, who was the sole survivor.

The battle was fought by the Spartan and Greek coalition forces against the Persians, led by King Xerxes and his multitude of soldiers.

In the book, Xerxes was so amazed by the fierceness and courage of the Spartan’s fighting that he assigned his personal surgeons to keep the helot alive to tell their story.

According to Herodotus, a Greek historian from that time period, 300 Spartans and their allies faced a Persian army of two million men marching to enslave all of Greece and continue to Europe.

The Greeks knew, being so greatly outnumbered, they were marching to their deaths. But, they also knew delaying their enemy might save a nation from tyranny.

In the book Leonidas said, “In years 600, no Spartan woman has beheld the smoke of the enemy’s fires. By … all the gods and heroes who defend Lakedaemon and by the blood of my own flesh, I swear that our wives and daughters, our sisters and mothers, will not behold those fires now.”

The Marines are no different when fighting to protect their country. Their love for country and their brothers in arms closely resembles the Spartans.

The Spartans verbally display this patriotism and brotherly love in a creed much like the Marine Corps Rifleman’s Creed.

This is my shield.
I bear it before me into battle,
But it is not mine alone.
It protects my brother on my left.
It protects my city.
I will never let my brother out of its shadow,
nor my city out of its shelter.
I will die with my shield before me
facing the enemy.

The Spartans also have their pride, and fierceness toward the enemy. Chesty Puller’s quote, “We’re surrounded. Well, that simplifies the problem,” is easily compared to Dienekes attitude when he responded to a passerby who was knowledgeable about the Persians military strength.

The man said the Persians have so many archers that with their arrows they could blot out the sun. Dienekes responded, “Good. Then we’ll have our battle in the shade.”

This book mirrors the Marine Corps’ history of fighting in wars when facing insurmountable odds, and the Spartans’ training as children could remind devil dogs of their time in boot camp.

It’s inspirational and teaches courage and leadership. It’s on the Commandant’s Reading List for a reason.

Obama White House Partners with ISIS-Linked Group

Posted By Matthew Vadum On February 16, 2015 @ 12:55 am In Daily Mailer,FrontPage | 18 Comments

Ad sponsored by Americans for Peace and Tolerance published in the Washington Times.

A Boston-based hub of terrorism associated with a top Islamic State propagandist and producer of hostage-beheading videos will receive the red carpet treatment at an anti-terrorism conference at the Obama White House this Wednesday.

The so-called Summit on Countering Violent Extremism comes as President Obama seeks formal authorization from Congress to wage war against the Islamic State (also known as ISIS or ISIL).

The terrorist-friendly Islamic Society of Boston (ISB), which is a known front for Islamist terrorist groups, operates mosques in and around Boston.

Members of the anti-terrorist community are outraged that officials of ISB will participate in discussions of anti-terrorism best practices on Feb. 18.

In a recent Washington Times op-ed, Charles Jacobs and Ilya Feoktistov of Americans For Peace and Tolerance, warned that ISB “and its political arm, the Muslim American Society, seen as the go-to groups for civic and law enforcement partnerships, have links to many extremists who are either in jail, in flight from federal authorities, or have been killed during terrorist attacks.” The group also ran a full-page ad about ISB’s participation in the summit in the Washington Times under the headline, “Why is Boston a Hub For ‘VIOLENT EXTREMISM?’”

Social media guru Ahmad Abousamra, who is now the chief propagandist for the Islamic State, used to regularly worship at ISB’s Cambridge mosque. His father was a member of the board of directors of ISB. The FBI suspects Abousamra is in charge of Islamic State’s slick English-language propaganda campaign that produces videos of beheadings and various atrocities. The campaign has succeeded in recruiting at least 300 American jihadists and thousands of volunteers from other Western nations.

Brown University student wants ROTC ‘criminals’ banned from campus

Published February 15, 2015

A Brown University student says the ROTC is guilty of “state-sanctioned violence” and its cadets are “criminals,” in a column published earlier this month.

The column, written by Peter Makhlouf, was written following the Feb. 3 decision by Brown University’s faculty to create a partnership between the school and the Navy and Air Force ROTC programs

Makhlouf is calling for the campus to ban the ROTC programs.

“By outlawing ROTC and its byproducts on our campus, we have the opportunity to maintain and strengthen a tradition of refusing to capitulate to the increasing demands of military engagement in today’s global agenda,” Makhlouf wrote in The Brown Daily Herald.

“It’s a bit disillusioned to think that Brown students should be exposed to every potential career — even more unthinkable to assume that they should be exposed to all potential military careers,” he wrote.

El Baghdadi is a tiny town in very close proximity to the massive al asad air base. It is now under control of hundreds of the enemy

Asad airbase has a HUGE perimeter which presents all kinds of opportunities for these black clad satan spawn to harass our men.

The base has been taking mortar fire for months and now are being probed with suicide attack skirmishers.

While the enemy doesn’t have the resources to overrun the base, an all out attempt by say 2-3 thousand would result in some Marine casualties.

Unfortunately the only way to achieve victory in this type of warfare and neutralize the threat of continued attacks on this base is to abandon the “innocent” moslem concept.

Give the population of “El Baghdadi” or any other place these satan spawn inhabit 24 hours to blow town and then level the place, kill anything that crawls out from the rubble.

Repeat as necessary.

The refugees can go to hell.
