In 2008, video recordings of Jeremiah Wrights sermons came closer than anything else to derailing Barack Obamas presidential campaign. Now, four years later, there appears to be audio recordings of Wright that may be damaging to Obama as well. Those recordings, allegedly in the possession of author Edward Klein, consist of Wright telling Klein some unflattering things, to include charges that Obama attempted to silence Wright in 2008.
One claim had to do with Obamas Christianity. During an appearance on Sean Hannitys radio show, Klein said that Wright wouldnt go so far as to say he converted Obama from Islam but he came awfully close:
the Reverend Wright told me on tape, that Obama came to him and said, I need some spiritual advice; I dont know exactly who I am and the Reverend Wright said Well we know your Islam background but what you need now, is some coaching on Christianity. And I asked the Reverend Wright did you convert him from being a Muslim to being a Christian and he said, well, I dont know if I could go that far but I made it comfortable for him to accept Christianity without having to renounce his Islamic background.
When one converts to Christianity from any religion isnt the point of doing so to renounce your previous religion? Look no further than John 3:18-21:
18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.
Lets not forget John 14:6 either:
6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Does Islam not repudiate Christianity by denying this central component? Why is the reverse not true as well? Christianity must necessarily repudiate Islam for the same reason.
If Kleins claim is true, perhaps the best we can say about the president is that he is a Chrislamist, which means he is not a Christian. At worst, the president is feigning Christianity for political expediency so that he can remain a Muslim.
For some reason, this 2008 slip is looking a bit more freudian today:
So many old threads on the nature of his Christianity, Liberation Theology, specifically Black Liberation Theology. But that goes to race, so we'll leave it alone. This administration is race blind. I think.
Apostate Muslims face the death penalty at the hands of their ex-coreligionists. Funny we haven’t heard more about that. BTT
Between Obama and the Current Pope we have quite the pair at one time in history.
“...This administration is race blind...”
Wright his self was apparently a muzzie back in the day.
sarcasm. Most racist administration I’ve lived under, though I don’t remember Truman much.
Apostate Muslims face the death penalty at the hands of their ex-coreligionists. Funny we havent heard death
threats against Obama for leaving the muslim faith.
Could it be he never left it?
I’m aware of his “friendship”, particularly with the Chicago version of Islam. I never heard he was Muslim. It’s none of my business, but Christians on FR have informed me that the United Church of Christ isn’t far from Unitarians, so one can worship, well, whatever. If good resides with a particular race, evil with another, who judges.
He never left it. It’s all taquiyyah.
” United Church of Christ “
Very leftist. Just the opposite of the Church of Christ.
If the media was objective, Wright should have killed Obama’s campaign. End of story.
The new evidence just further damns him, not that there’s a shortage of it.
Wright’s “church” was nothing more than a racist black supremacist conclave. Nothing Christian about it. We pointed this out way back in 2004. The evidence, straight from their own website, was overwhelming.
Basically the Republican Party said, “Shut up.” They hated Alan Keyes far more than they disliked Barack Hussein Obama.
Shoot, they told us to shut up about his middle name being Hussein.
That’s the way I see it.
If America survives this, Obama will go down as an
object lesson to everyone as to who NOT to elect
as a leader.
If America doesn’t survive this, Obama will be
known as the “Great Imam”.
Given that some significant fraction of Africans traveling to the US back in the day were muzzies, the whole black muzzie thing in the US is more or less the real deal.
What would be refreshing would be for Obama—not Rev. Wright—to come out and tell us his religion. Is he still Muslim, did and when did he renounce it? And if he says he is now Christian, how so? In name only?
Seriously, would it make a difference in support or opposition to know Obama is still a Muslim? I sure wouldn’t like or dislike him any differently. Give him points maybe for finally being honest, albeit a bit late.
Culturally, however, I believe he's about half Muslim, half transnational-Marxist.
What he is not, in any way, shape or form, is American.
