Just how many people were killed on “Bloody Sunday”?

Did the media create the whole horror story?

Not that I give a rip but I’d heard that President George W. Bush and Laura Bush were going to be there.

I think that the actual complaint was that no one from the GOP “Leadership” went to the event. You couldn’t claim no Republicans were going because Sen Scott was a co-host of the event, and the attendance of Pres GW Bush had been advertised days before.

It could have been a trap to get house Whip Scalise there after all of that talk about his speaking to a White Power/David Duke group in Louisiana. They would have loved that.

Without Everett Dirksen and the Republican minority in the Senate the Civil Rights Bill of 1965 wouldn’t have been passed.

... They control the media and they control the narrative. Sadly ... as the old saying goes ...."Perception is reality"..... so unless there is a big furor to dispute the claim and narrative ..... the reality in the public eye will be that there were NO Republicans present in Selma.

..... Yet another example of how elections have consequences.

I had four of my Comments “disappear” when I Posted on the NYT linked Page regarding a Maureen Dowd propaganda piece.

They even failed to Post my Reply when I simply asked if they had a Policy of not approving Comments from those who disagree with what they published.

Pity the article does not list the Republicans present. Does anyone have this list?

If they had used the uncropped version, Obama would have been too small.

@MHP Show: Where are the Republicans? #Selma

Just don’t you worry about it. The Republicans were there in numbers to vote for and pass the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Where were the filthy RATs then?

"23 Republicans RINOs at Selma despite media claims of zero"

Since Constitution-respecting Republicans are extinct imo, the media is right about no Republicans at Selma. /semi-sarc

And of course, without Republican votes, the Civil Rights Act would never have been passed.

The proglodytes were marching against it. That’s the problem with irony sometimes. It’s so ironic.

They know they’re lying, but for liberals, truth is whatever serves The Party and if you say something often enough it becomes true. So they’re just posting a truth higher than the facts.

"today's New York times with George Bush and Laura Bush cropped out of the photo"

Change the name of the NYT's to Old School Pravda (U.S.S.R)-USA-all the news that may or may not be entirely true.

It would be a good idea for Republicans to fight back and tell people the truth about the democrat party history -They (dems) were the ones who fought against Civil Rights laws.

The majority of Americans have no idea that it was democrats who were against these laws, and stood in the way of them being passed-This is thanks to propagandist media, and Marxist educators refusing to tell anyone what really happened .

( I was shocked when I first learned of this from Rush Limbaugh's show. At that time-I thought the media reported just the facts and for the most part, did its best to report truthfully. How wrong I was.)

It's too bad so many have this false impression of the right, which is built from a total lie. No one challenges it so it continues.

Unfortunately (with few exceptions) the words "Republicans" and "Fight" rarely occur in the same sentence.

I went through that very thing on Twitter last night. And had no good answers. Sigh.

Just that the dems were against civil rights.

Socialist Networking sites like twitter and facebook are a lie.

They are run by bots and biased by libs (facebook won’t even show you all of the posts by friends that you have opted into, it uses a biased algorithm to show you hot trends and preferred sponsored content instead).
