I hate to say this but I’m seeing a lot of political posturing on Gowdy’s part with few results. I hope I’m wrong about this.
I understand your concern, but I think he is doing two things. One is he wants to keep things on track, by holding specifically what he and his committee were tasked to do. The second is that when you do an investigation, you do not tell all you know, until the end. Letting information out midway through lets others know what they can and cannot cover up. So he is proceeding along the lines of a constitutional inquiry with the normal investigative techniques. Of course, I’d like to see it go faster.
Whenever I see Trey talk on something I realize it’s an issue the republicans plan to never do something about so they need to throw red meat to the conservatives.

Yes, results do matter. I'd be rich if I had a nickel for every time Charles Schumer identified and acknowledged problem AND said something needed to be done, then moved on to the next one as people swooned by the fact they he agreed with them there was a problem. But, nothing every gets done.
