WASHINGTON -- In an effort to reassert control over the domestic political debate surrounding sensitive negotiations on Irans nuclear program, the White House penned a letter Saturday night warning senators to hold back on legislation that would detract from the presidents ability to affect and approve a final agreement with Iran.
The letter, written by White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough to Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), reiterates a veto threat of the bill, while insisting that Congress will have a say in reviewing and affecting the ultimate outcome. But in far more detailed and foreboding terms than normal, McDonough lays out the administration's concerns should Corker's Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015 end up becoming law.
The bill, he writes, would "likely have a profoundly negative impact on the ongoing negotiations -- emboldening Iranian hard-liners, inviting a counter-productive response from the Iranian majiles; differentiating the U.S. position from our allies in negotiations; and once again calling into question our ability to negotiate this deal."

The Emperor is always right and his rule should never be questioned. He is the supreme authority.
Michael Corleone says very quietly: "You straightened my brother out?"
Who the heck is the president to "warn" the senate??? That's not his place. At all.
If I were majority leader in the Senate, I’d reply back to him with a personal letter that says, “I’ll do whatever I damned well want to as majority leader of the United States Senate; you seem to be doing damned well whatever you want as a lame duck President.”
(Now if they only had the balls to actually say it and follow up on it!)
The first mistake with him was to treat him as a legitimate President that had cause to be there.
Yeh I’m sure Corker is shaking in his boots. LOL!
What else zero was doing last night:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama took aim at his Republican opponents and his gaffe-prone vice president on Saturday in a satirical speech that included a roast of his former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over her recent problems with email.
Obama joined Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker,
Obama jokes about Clinton email, knocks Republicans at dinner
Dinner, golfing, fundraising, campaigning ....no wonder this prez had no time to sign a CBA.
Obama doesn’t realize he lost his moral authority when he went outside the rule of law with so many executive mandates, any trust is gone
“and once again calling into question our ability to negotiate this deal.”
He says that as if it were something bad.
That’s what happens when you put a street punk in the Whitehouse.
As James Carville was wont to say, “This means WaaaaR!”
If Obama tries to use the UN security counsel to pass the “agreement” with Iran, congress should refund the UN as a response.
Getting ever closer to a real constitutional crisis. I think Obama’s time is growing short and he is going for all the marbles.
Whaaaa! If the boy king doesn’t get his way, he’s going to stomp his feet and hold his breath.
“[The bill would] likely have a profoundly negative impact on the ongoing negotiations”
Well, yeah, that’s the point. We’re trying to stop the Obama from negotiating in favor of the empowerment of our avowed enemies.
“Who the heck is the president to “warn” the senate??? That’s not his place. At all. “
“President Timber Rattler Obola has “warned” just about everyone in the government over the past 6 year.
The people should “warn” the Clown Prince...arrest, convict and imprison him.
What part of ADVISE and consent does he not understand. Constitutional professor my ass.
