SF SPCA Rescue Nearly 60 Dogs From South Korea Meat Farm

Nearly 60 dogs are recovering at the San Francisco SPCA after a long flight from South Korea. The dogs were rescued from a meat farm outside of Seoul, where dog meat is considered a delicacy.

SPCA staff welcomed the dogs to America on Thursday.

"There is a belief that dog meat is beneficial for your health, particular during hot months," said Adam Parascandola of the International Humane Society.

The SPCA said dogs at the meat farm were being raised for slaughter. A video provided by the SPCA shows the animals were kept in cages at markets, where their meat is sold for a couple hundred dollars.

An estimated two million dogs are killed in South Korea each year for food, according to the Humane Society. The dogs rescued by the SPCA were from a dog meat farmer who was trying to get out of the business. "No doubt one of the most horrendous situations I've seen," Parascandola said.

About half of the dogs rescued are puppies.

The ASPCA kills more dogs and cats than that on a regular basis in this country. As well as assorted ‘Animal Shelters’ when they run out of room.

You can even find youtube vids of barrels of dead dogs and cats to easily prove it.

The ChiComs do even worse. Reports have been published over the years about how they capture and bind with ropes cats and then toss them alive into large pots of boiling water to cook them for meals.

I have yet to hear of any US agency rescuing any of those poor cats or protesting their treatment in any way.

It’s not so much that Koreans eat dogs as how they treat dogs prior to their being eaten.

Are you sure you’re not confusing them with PETA?

Next thing you know they will show up at a feedlot in the Texas Panhandle and “rescue” all of the beeves up there.

Probably ship them to India for pets.

They eat dogs, I’d eat one if I was hungry enough.

Hmmm. You could be right; it could be PETA. Then again, I do not recall PETA running any animal shelters recently so I am not certain at this point.

When I worked in China in 1977, I saw two young boys put a dog in a 12 inch steel pipe laying on the ground at our construction site. They banged on the pipe with rocks so long that the poor dog came out almost insane. I was told they do that to make the dog’s fur stand up before they kill it because it makes a much finer hat with erect fur.

Now the Koreans will be raising dogs to sell to the ASPCA instead of restaurants.

True that. The worst offenders in animal cruelty, and they have the backward cruel belief (or using as an excuse) that “torture makes the meat taste better”. They not only horrifically torture cats and dogs but all other animals as well...savagely beating them beforehand to “tenderize” the meat, skinning, boiling, roasting alive, cutting off body parts but keeping them alive so the rest of the meat stays “fresh”. The animals die a slow agonizing death.

Anyone who’s capable of doing that or thinking it’s fine is extremely apathetic/sociopathic and desensitized and severely lacking basic compassion, they are dangerous and would do this to humans if they could get away with it.
