Not to defend her, because she certainly is a cheapskate. But every Chiptole where I've been, you wait in line to order and pay for your food. Sometimes, you get it before you are done. Sometimes, they bring it to you if it isn't ready before you are done with the line.
No different from Wendy's, really. Does anyone tip at Wendy's?

I generally welcome any opportunity to bash the hag, but I'm with you on this one.
People who work at these joints are paid a full wage... perhaps minimum, perhaps not.
That's a far cry from waitstaff who attend your needs personally at your table and tips constitute the majority of their earnings.
I may throw the coins from my change into the tip jar, but nothing more if it is a counter service setup.

She did this in a diner in upstate New York her first go around too.
So it’s her. Also I believe she walked out with out paying for two egg sandwiches. One for each ankle.
