The SNP could win every single seat in Scotland in next week's General Election, a bombshell poll revealed this morning. Nicola Sturgeon's party has moved 34 points ahead of Labour, according to the pollsters Ipsos MORI, sparking a stark warning from David Cameron that Britain faces being brought to a 'shuddering halt'. If the SNP repeat the result on May 7, it would win all 59 of Scotland's seats – up from just six today. The Prime Minister, speaking in Birmingham today, said the SNP surge risked giving the balance of power to a party which saw Britain as the 'enemy' and would do everything to take the country 'back to square one'.

A party the wants to break up the Union might be the kingmaker. This party can cause as much trouble as the Irish Free Staters did for the Liberals during the late Victorian era.

From Wikipedia:

The SNP's policy base is mostly in the mainstream European social democratic tradition. Among its policies are commitments to same-sex marriage, reducing the voting age to 16, unilateral nuclear disarmament, progressive personal taxation, the eradication of poverty, the building of affordable social housing, free higher education, opposition to the building of new nuclear power plants, investment in renewable energy, the abolition of Air Passenger Duty, and a pay increase for nurses.

Just what the world needs, more socialists...

In William Wallace’s time, the Scots fought for freedom and self-determination. Nowadays, they’re more interested in free stuff and self-gratification.

Kind of sad, really...

That’s the comparison I was going to make. The Irish free staters with Parnell, et alia played merry hell with late Victorian parliamentary politics.

When it comes to poll paper I prefer Northern over Charmin.

I read that list of “wants” and think, by God, let them have it.

But build a wall because it won’t be 20 years before they start running south for salvation and food.

What a bunch of clueless and historically ignorant serfs.

>> build a wall because it won’t be 20 years before they start running south for salvation and food.

We in the American South share that sentiment, for pretty much the same reasons as England.

Whatever they may be, the SNP are not fascists. Fascism is extreme violent nationalism and with a dictator. The SNP has neither

The breakup of the UK is inevitable. The 4 nations in the UK were only held together by:
  1. The Empire
  2. The monarchy
  3. Protestant Christianity

The Empire is gone, the monarchy is a thing for the gladrags and the UK is post-Christian. They have no other unifying factor. Once the Empire fell, it was only time for the UK to dismember itself

A recent poll showed that 2/3rds of UK citizenry didn't know what Waterloo was (the Battle of Waterloo that is -- it's the bicentenary this year)

The SNP is thought to be the most authoritarian party in the UK.
