Its getting pretty rough and intense on the eve of a hotly contested general election.

The tactics of the big parties are squarely aimed at the smaller parties.

In recent hours, Prime Minister David Cameron has made comments saying Wales and Scotland should have tax raising powers. A pitch to the nationalist parties there can be no doubt.

The rise of the Scottish National Party has shocked many considering their loss in the independence referendum last year.

It looks like the SNP will win 50 to 60 of Scotland's 71 seats in the House of Commons tomorrow.

There have been some calls for electoral reform in the last days of the campaign.

The first past the post system can hurt smaller parties but in Scotland the concentration of SNP support there is a winner.

For those hostile to the SNP a proportional voting system nationwide would hold SNP to 20 or 25 seats.

For UKIP such a system would mean 90 or so seats ztomorrow based on current polling data.

The big parties, Labour and Conservative, are fighting for every last vote right now and their machines need to crush the third parties that stand in their way.

Its not surprising that certain 'incidents' have occurred in the last 24 hours or so.

Some SNP members just happened to shove the Labour Party leader in Scotland around. The SNP suspended the members but one wonders whether these folks were planted in the SNP by Labour to create trouble.

Meanwhile a UKIP candidate was suspended by his party after he threatened the life of his Conservative opponent by saying he would kill the Conservative if he were elected Prime Minister. It all sounds a bit weird.

The UKIP candidate in this story just happened to be an ex-Conservative which only raises my suspicions that he was planted in UKIP to create embarrassment at the right moment, the eve of the election.

It was Ronald Reagan who said that watching the GOP political machine that denied him the presidential nomination in 1976 was like 'seeing the world with its pants down'.

Well, in British politics it is 'pants down' time now. The Conservative Party Mayor of London and candidate for a House of Commons seat tomorrow, Boris Johnson, has described the fight in recent days against Labour and fear of an alliance with the SNP as 'ajockalypse now'.

Of course my sympathies are totally with UKIP and Nigel Farage, who has rightly said the major parties are a "cartel" and they are merely tools of big corporations, not interested in supporting the working people and small business.

The guy used to be a Tory and I strongly suspect he was sent into UKIP to create trouble and discredit UKIP.

I’ve seen this in political campaigns that I’ve been involved in fighting the GOPe and in other political contests both primaries and general elections...

I want to see the UKIP and 'Real' Conservatives win. I would love to see a collation of the UKIP and the Conservative Parties....

As a Welsh, I wish there was a conservative Welsh Party.

It looks like the SNP will win 50 to 60 of Scotland's 71 seats in the House of Commons tomorrow.

Labour is poised to win *not even one* seat in Scotland, which used to be a Labour stronghold. LD leader Nick Clegg may be getting crossover "tactical" votes from Tory voters (the Tory candidate is polling no higher than 12 percent) to deny the seat to Labour. UKIP's poised to win just one seat out of the 650 at stake in the UK. Labour is so repellent to many that in close races between Labour and Conservatives, where UKIP was a strong third but still out of it, expect the unexpected Tory victory here and there. Pollsters show Labour has gained at the expense of other parties in Wales, but has lost Scotland; has London but not much gain there.

Overall, the Cameron's Tories will nudge Miliband's Labour by about seven seats, sez here, 282 to 275, regardless of the percentages of the popular vote; Liberal Democrats 18 seats, UKIP 1, Greens 1, SNP 52, Plaid Cymru 3, Democratic Union (N Ireland) 18. If that breakdown is correct, Cameron will need the LD and the Democratic Union to even come close; he's made reference to taxation autonomy for Wales and Scotland. [see more crazed rant here]

DUP will probably get nine seats in Northern Ireland. The rest are spread out to others including Sinn Fein.
