In an editorial for the new issue of THE WEEKLY STANDARD, Bill Kristol notes the "ludicrous" "guarantee" Secretary of State John Kerry made last week regarding Iran's so-called breakout capacity towards nuclear weapons. Kerry told Israelis:
I say to every Israeli that today we have the ability to stop [the Iranians] if they decided to move quickly to a bomb and I absolutely guarantee that in the future we will have the ability to know what they are doing so that we can still stop them if they decided to move to a bomb.
This is not the first time Kerry has used the word "guarantee" in reference to the Iran nuclear deal. A month ago, in an interview with PBS's Judy Woodruff, Kerry responded as follows when Woodruff asked if this deal was more about delaying Iran's acquisition of nuclear weapons than about denying those weapons altogether:

When I was probably 10 in the 1960’s I read in the paper some government official said, “China will never develop a nuclear bomb because it is not in their interest to do so.” I thought, this guy has to be an idiot. Shortly after that China set off their first nuke. I expected somebody to quote him but never read that.

UH OH, I forgot they did get Nuclear Weapons despite the agreement made with Carter.
If history informs us of anything, it is that when Jean-Francois Kerre` makes the assertion of something being “guaranteed”, that guarantee is not worth much.
The Saudis will launch a crash program of building their own uranium extraction program and producing “dirty” nuclear weapons. It’s not like the have to start from scratch, they can Google most of what they have to know to get set up.
And for them, funding is not a problem.
Not Republicans.
Ever since that nasty Republican Richard Nixon made him spend Christmas of 1968 in Cambodia, he's known Republicans were no good.
