Gallup Poll: Obama Favorable Rating Up, Best Since September 2013
Gallup ^ | 05/21/2015 | Justin McCarthy

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Americans' favorable ratings of President Barack Obama now stand at 53%, up four points from March. This comes after a year in which these ratings were mostly below 50% and marks the president's highest score since September 2013.

A president's favorable ratings are distinct from approval of his performance; job approval ratings generally tend to be lower. For the Obama presidency, Gallup trends show the two measures have changed largely in tandem. As Obama's approval rating has rebounded nine percentage points from a low of 37% last fall, his favorable rating has increased 11 points from 42%. The resulting seven-point gap between Obama's current 46% approval rating and his 53% favorable rating is slightly larger than the average five-point gap between these ratings for Obama since he took office.

The gap between job approval and favorable ratings over the course of Obama's presidency has been as wide as eight points, and as narrow as two points. The latter took place just after Obama was re-elected, in November 2012, when his favorable rating was 58% and his job approval was 56%.

This is just counterintuitive.

If true, it means nothing as this pr*ck has done nothing to warrant a jump in popularity. Perhaps it reflects that a larger percentage of those polled had just finished a good BM over the last time.

But it most certainly doesn't mean Americans like the kenyan clown any better.

Do you approve a Kenyan communist Islamic usurper installed by the one world government cabal to destroy the once great “shining city” of the world? These idiot pollsters are obviously being paid by the goobermint.

Doubtful that anyone would change their opinion of Obama for the better.

The stock market is at all-time highs, gasoline is off its high, and the world is in flames. All is well. God help us!

The numbers I would like to see are the percentages of change in feelings about Obama. I don’t hear anyone I encounter vigorously defending him. Some people like him, but there is no intensity behind it. On the other hand the percentage of increase of distaste and actual disgust for him has increased dramatically among people I encounter. Those people don’t want to see his policies continue with another democrat administration.

RE: The stock market is at all-time highs

Some questions:

1) Does that help the struggling middle class, or Wall Street?

I thought Obama wants to reduce inequality...

2) Is this stock market high due to profits from companies, or is it because there is nowhere else for investors to put their money due to miniscule interest rates?

3) How long before the party ends?
