Over here on the eastern side of the Cascades we are also experiencing a draught with water-use restrictions. Irrigation district customers in Kennewick, for example, are restricted to watering lawns 30 minutes twice a week. 102-104F temps forecast for the coming weekend and that water isn’t going to amount to much.

I used to live in the Tri-Cities. Now I live in Seattle but I also have a place near Cle Elum, and I just read today that people that have irrigation rights that allow them to draw from the Teanaway and the Cowiche are being cut off. Some of those deeds date back to the 1880s. This is a major drought.
