"Drop Hoes", When LA Street Gangs go White Collar
KrebsonSecurity ^ | August 20, 2015 | Brian Krebs

Authorities across the United States this week arrested dozens of gang members who stand accused of making millions of dollars stealing consumer identities in order to file fraudulent tax refund requests with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The arrests highlight the dramatic shift in gang activity in recent years from high-risk drug dealing to identity fraud — a far less risky yet equally lucrative crime.

$6 billion a year. Why risk a drug rap when white collar crimes rarely do serious time? Just need a laptop, and someone (Drop Hoe) to forward checks from phony addresses.

“Shorty gotta a whole crib and a new range Said her home girl came with a few names Told me all a n***a need is a laptop And she gonna show me what to do to make a tax drop”

“Got a check for forty grand she goin’ buy a hummer Ball hard got it all from playin’ with numbers Told her when she break me off I’ma buy a crib And take it straight to the kit to teach her how to whip”

So many people are out of work because of 0 I bet stealing someone’s ID to get their tax refund was a crapshoot.

Selling drugs is a victimless crime. Nobody swears out a complaint, and you can stay below the radar for all of your criminal career as long as you’re careful. Identity theft will always result in a criminal complaint, so the likelihood of prosecution and arrest is very high, unless the perp is some kind of criminal mastermind, an international man of mystery. Most hood rats aren’t particularly bright, so they will get caught.

You are assuming that the current administration wants to catch them.

Yes, I’d like to hear the opinion of the many people I’ve known over the years who have died from drugs concerning such a statement. But they’re too dead to answer.

Tell that to the families of the addicts.

There’s no such thing as victimless crime.

It’s a much better business model, but im afraid the rap music will suffer. NWA just wouldn’t be the same rapping about the hard world of wire fraud.

You guys are missing the point. He is saying that when you sell dope, most times the crime doesn’t anger someone who will quickly demand relief.
If you steal an identity, or a credit card, a victim will very quickly report the fraud.

Drinking a large coke in NYC was almost a victimless crime.

"..Tell that to the families of the addicts.."

Tell it to the families of smokers.
Tell it to the families of alcoholics.
Tell it to the families of the ones the drunks have killed with their vehicles.

I fail to see the difference. Why are some drugs legal while others aren't? Peeps are killed on both sides.

Conclusion: Some people will do stupid chit and die. It's what they do and it cannot be stopped.

Every conservative needs to do two things:

Put a credit freeze on all three credit accounts

Get a PIN from the IRS for filing taxes.

These simple two things will SAVE you and your identity

Some observations:

1. I never thought NWA or other rappers would be talking about W-2s, taxes and laptops.
2. When the real identity owner presents to the IRS, they should claw back tthe refund, or repossses assets. I doubt that happens.
3. The prisons are over crowded. They are more likely to parole an idendity theif, than a drug dealer.
4. This is what happens to our money when a third party manages it.

False correlation. Never mind throwing a sop to Islam.

The tolerance and dependence qualities of drugs like heroin, barbiturates, methamphetamine and cocaine far outstrip those of alcohol. Not to mention that coming from a family of smokers (I do not smoke), I have not seen one of them die due to tobacco-related cancer.
