There are a few, however. Tom Cotton is one who comes to mind; wasn’t he the only No vote on the Corker bill?

If Howard Baker wasn’t bad enough, TN people have to inflict a “corkscrew” on us.

So true, and even the half-dozen or so “conservatives” cast liberal votes from time to time.

I am not ready to call Ted a fraud by any stretch. But I am ready to say he made a GIANT mistake by voting for this. Eneru deal with a democrat must be viewed from the pris of “who are we getting stabbed in the back.” At least now he is trying to stop it. It is telling to me that he is trying to stop it by insisting the law that Corker wrote be obeyed. The very people who wrote the law are insisting that it not be.

So, in the scheme of things I am infinitely more angry with Corker and B—ch MxConnell than Cruz. I mean, there won’t even be a straight up or down vote in the Senate. We have gone from a two thirds majority needed to ratify a treaty to a minority of 41, not even 49 needed to approve it!! How the hell did things get so turned upside down.

Re: “Why would Corker contradict the plain language of his own bill? One reason is money.”

Campaign money, perhaps.

Personal money? He doesn't need it. His net worth is over $50 million.

Important to remember that well over 50% of Senators and Congressmen were millionaires BEFORE they ran for elective office.

I think money motivates very few Congress members.

I think almost all Congress members have a well defined political philosophy.

In Corker's case, I think the guy has always been a well camouflaged center-left Republican who aligns himself with the Republicans because they give him the best chance of being elected.
