In a vote of 269-162, the House of Representatives rejected the approval of the White Houses nuclear agreement with Iran. Every Republican except one voted against it, while they managed to get 25 Democrats on board as well.

Today's vote may prove to be just a temporary setback for the Obama administration. Thursday night, the Senate voted to reject a GOP-led disapproval resolution. Even if it had passed, the president has enough votes to use his veto power.
Several House members have voiced their opposition to the deal, including Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), who wrote a blistering op-ed against it on Friday:
"As our world grows more dangerous and unstable each month, trusting a violent Iranian regime that has been nothing but hostile to America is an error we cannot afford to make."
Guy had a suggestion for GOP leadership today, urging them to not "simply shrug and give up," but play hardball.
Final note: Social media users noted Thursday's victory for the White House comes at a tragically ironic time -- the eve of September 11.
On the Eve of #september11 American leadership in Washington is working hard to arm the enemy. #IranDeal— Estevan (@mrlucky1) September 10, 2015
The #IranDeal is a testament to human beings' short memories; it only took 14 years to completely disregard the lessons of #September11 '01.— Matt Rooney (@MattRooneyNJ) September 8, 2015
Yeah, but >>>so what?<<<
Since when does our government have to vote to prevent something from becoming law???
Much of the talk over this issue has sounded like the Iran deal is already done, and congress must somehow pass a law to stop it from being implemented.
So on who’s authority is this “deal” a done deal?
Mitch McConnell and the GOP establishment are playing political establishment games with the security and well being of this nation.
The Senate should simply have indicated that the deal is a Treaty and therefore must be ratified by 2/3rd of the senate.
The House should simply and emphatically state that the sanctions WILL NOT BE CANCELED. Those sanctions are a matter of US Law now, and the present cannot decide to make a deal and render them null and void.
Instead, we find the GOP Establishment helping the dems to flip the constitutional requirement on its ear and turn it into the exact opposite.
Here in 2016 we need to do the same thing to the Republican RINO establishment that we did to the Dems in 2010 and 2014...and route the vipers out of the halls of power.
Only when we replace these career politicians and all of their inside the beltway power games with Americans intent on doing what is right for this nation, will we be able to effectively take up and do the nations business.
Go Trump! I just pray it’s not too late.
They all need to be thrown out of office! And here is why:
If you start with a cage containing four monkeys, and inside the cage hang a banana on a string from the top, and then you place a set of stairs under the banana, before long a monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the banana.
ALL the monkeys are sprayed with cold water. After a while, another monkey makes an attempt with same result As soon as he touches the stairs, you spray ALL the monkeys with cold water. Pretty soon, when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.
Now, put the cold water away. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new monkey. The new monkey sees the banana and attempts to climb the stairs. To his shock, ALL of the other monkeys beat the crap out of him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be assaulted.
Next, remove another of the original four monkeys, replacing it with a new monkey. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm because he is now part of the team.
Then, replace a third original monkey with a new monkey, followed by the fourth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked.
Now, the monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs. Neither do they know why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.
Finally, having replaced all of the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys will have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, not one of the monkeys will try to climb the stairway for the banana. Why, you ask? Because in their minds, that is the way it has always been!
This is how the House is and Senate operates today; and this is why, from time to time, ALL of the monkeys need to be REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME!
Disclaimer: This is meant as no disrespect to monkeys.
“Here in 2016 we need to do the same thing to the Republican RINO establishment that we did to the Dems in 2010 and 2014...and route the vipers out of the halls of power.”
I think it’s self evident in your statement that no such thing in fact happened. Rather, we as the right collectively added to the nest of vipers and made leaders of two, otherwise we would not be in this mess to begin with.
I point to Mitch and Jonbon along with each and every lesser evil/no matter what fraud that has consistently worked in support of Obama.
So who was the one Republican who did NOT vote against it? The person needs to be humiliated beyond belief!
RE: Nearly All House Republicans
OK, who are the GOP jerks that didn’t vote against the deal?
Many of those pols, were indeed a pig in a poke.
We need to ensure that in upcoming elections we reject the political establishment completely, wherever they may be found...vote them out of office and replace them with Americans committed to vote for the best interests of this nation.
Thomas Massie, who is a good guy voted Present. I don’t know why though.
Some. But Bitch and JB specifically campaigned on working with Barry. No excuse for their supporter/voters possible. They were TOLD by the leaders to be themselves.
If the sanctions are law, then they can only be lifted by another law or a treaty.
Nearly all? What are the names? Defenestrate them ... from the party.
One present and one not voting. I don’t know who they were.
This just stuns me that so many are against it yet because of the stupidity of the previous agreement, that is enough to get it done for Zero.
Edit for clarity
told by “The leaders to-be” themselves.
He's a traitor.
Think of it like this. You have a yard. Your yard has ants as do all yards.
Do you listen to the council of your ants? If not, why not?
Any way to find names of those who voted each way?
But that takes a ratification vote requiring a 2/3 majority to approve it.
Only a properly ratified treaty, or a counter resolution/act in Congress therefore could undo the sanction, which is currently US law.
Anyhow, strong leaders in the House and senate would make this clear and indicate that any move by Obama to suspend US law on his own authority, without a ratified Treaty, or a Act of Congress, will be treated for the treason it is and articles of impeachment will be immediately put before the Congress.
THAT is how you must deal with an anti-American like Obama over this deal.
