This came out back when the story first broke - when they thought they had the whole country all in a lather to stomp out once and forever the scourge of Islamophobia so that what happened to innocent genius Ahmed would never happen again.
Now that the tide is turning and it looks like litigation is a distinct possibility, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re being told to clam up so they don’t let any more blunders like this slip out.
I think I saw somewhere that Ahmed is now claiming that he “soldered a CPU” or some nonsense so it would definitely be good advice.

However, a 110-volt clock from the same 15-year timeframe is not “the same model” as a 12-volt clock, even if they are manufactured by the same company.
And clocks from that time (and later) are a dime a dozen at thrift shops, which are full of old electronics.
