I don’t really understand who or why anyone is embarrassed.
Unless the writer is referring to Republicans. After all they are the ones we elected to clean up this mess. In 1992, 2010 and 2014.
OK, now I get it. It is us, the suckers that voted for them that should be embarrassed.
Traditional voter response: "We should throw all the bums out! Except my guy, of course. He's not so bad. I'd certainly vote to re-elect my guy. But the rest of the bums -- they should all be thrown out!!"
The voters got us into this mess (I'm in MA, so if your name is Kennedy, we will elect you).
And with the immigration situation, and with Common Core, the quality of the voter base is certainly not rising.
