Trump Pledges To Get Political Correctness Out Of Christmas

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump pledges that if elected, he restore the phrase “Merry Christmas” in every U.S. store. While the presidential candidate has not unveiled how he would do this, his declaration was met with cheers among evangelical supporters. Video below.

Trump touted his Christian beliefs at an Oct. 21 campaign rally in Burlington, Iowa, CNN reports.

“I will tell you I’m a good Christian,” says Trump. “I guarantee, if I become president, we’re gonna [sic] be saying Merry Christmas in every store… you can leave happy holidays at the corner.”

The business mogul was met with rapturous applause from Iowa voters. Trump added that it’s not a matter of excluding other religions, according to CNN.

“That’s not to knock anybody else, other religions can do what they want,” says Trump. “There’s room for everybody.”

One of the biggest anxieties among Christian conservatives around the country has been the nationwide toning down of religious undertones during Christmas festivities. Trump’s supporters say that they are attracted to Trump’s bullish refusal to be politically correct, CNN reports.

"He actually says what I want to hear and he's not worried about telling somebody or saying it in a way that doesn't sound real," Cynthia Forth, an Iowa voter, tells CNN. "I want to hear (it) straight. He'll give it to you straight."

Trump has been emphasizing his Christian values on the Iowa campaign trail this past week. A Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics poll shows retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson having overtaken Trump in the pivotal state. Carson currently has 28 percent of Iowa voters while Trump is lagging behind at 19 percent, The New York Times reports.

The survey shows that only 32 percent of Iowa voters are convinced that Trump is a good Christian while 62 percent believe that Carson is attractively a true believer. Trump has now taken to bringing a copy of the Bible to campaign events, according to The New York Times.

Just to be honest with the world, I am tired of “happy holidays”, or worse, “winter break”.

Which holiday might we be discussing? Hannukah....celebrated by about 2% of Americans?

Or the fake holiday...can’t even remember its name right now.

OR....could it be Christmas?

Why don’t we get “happy holidays” when it’s ‘ramadan’? In 2016 that will be close to Pentecost and Trinity Sunday.

Is Ben Carson a Seventh Day Adventist or a Mormon?

They could make it illegal to utter happy holidays.

Great! Of course, the President has about zilch control over it, other than what the White House itself might do, but I guess it’s the thought that counts.

7Day Adventist.

They used to be cultish. In the last few decades, they’ve tried to shed their ‘end of the world drama’ and move into a Saturday evangelical type status.

Bully Pulpit.

Government documents unafraid to use the word Christmas, Easter, etc.

There’s a wide-ranging impact.

while 62 percent believe that Carson is attractively a true believer.

That is more of a measure of the lack of discernment of America's professing Christians than anything else.

Carson is a cult member who believes you have to keep the OT laws to be saved (dietary, etc.), and who therefore rejects the finished sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. Carson is not a genuine Christian.

I don't believe Trump is either, but at least Trump belongs to a denomination that (technically) holds to biblical doctrine.

Stores can do whatever they want and call it whatever they want. The people have the option to patronize them or not.

“I will tell you I’m a good Christian.” Santa Claus, Rudolph, Frosty, eggnog, turkey and all the trimmings. Orthodox as they come!

Yep. They founded Kellogg’s cereals as health food because of no pork, no shellfish, vegetarianism, etc. Seriously.

I don’t have problems with people self-imposing such restrictions on themselves, but to teach it is a requirement of Christianity is to be lost in the law.

Trump’s from a Presbyterian background, I believe. His favorite verse is unutterable, because it probably has to do with Jacob and Esau in the middle of Romans. :>)

I wish everyone I encounter a Merry Christmas. If I know they're Jewish, I wish them a Happy Hannukah. Some people return the greeting, or say nothing. No one is going to stop me from from the time honored tradition of celebrating CHRISTmas.

Showboating, I prefer to shop at stores that don’t ban employee’s saying Merry Christmas, but really it’s up to the ownership of the stores. If they can survive without my dollars that’s their business, this is really no different than telling a bakery it must bake a wedding cake for queers, the government should not be involved. Now if he would say that he is going to end the war on Christianity in schools and government agencies, then I am with him.

LOL, Trump doesn’t strike me as a Calvinist. I doubt he knows what that term really means - but who knows.
