I haven’t had less than $1000 in savings since I was 16 years old, that is over 50 years ago.

Until my late 20’s I had zero savings. Guess I was ahead of the curve.

M's are 3 generations removed from the Greatest Generation. That was the last generation that did any real heavy lifting in America.

M's have no concept of frugality, sacrifice and diligence.

The Two preceding generations, the Boomers (that's me) and the X’ers also had little conception of those values.

The curse of inherited wealth has magnified with each generation, producing a less able and less resilient citizen at each level.

M's are being prepared for slaughter, just like the “Eloi” in HG Wells classic “Time Machine.” Plenty of “Morlocks roaming the planet ready willing and eager to extract blood and tears from the fattened weakened human cattle.

If things get too rough, most can go live with their parents, God forbid.

So when a “millennial” turns 35 does he find more money in his bank account?

Time to trash all artificial categories concocted by the media.

Really. The millenial generation is larded with entitled, improvident children, but I wonder how many boomers had $1000 in savings at 18 to 34.

Not surprised. They live on credit and the idea that they’re entitled to whatever feels good for the moment. They are unable to think ahead and anticipate (or avoid) the consequences of the choices they make today. To them, saving money for the future is unnecessary. They expect mom and dad and/or you and I to provide financial assistance when they need it.

To paraphrase someone who put it far more eloquently than I can — for some inexplicable reason, millennial don't aspire to be the Marlboro Man, they aspire to be pajama boy.

most X’rs I know are doing very well, have good savings and nice homes, and some of these were friends I thought would never make anything of themselves but they still had work ethic and didn’t buy into the social justice/entitlement crap the worthless Millenial snowflakes have. Millenials are hive minded children.

Meaningless. They’re only including cash and money in bank accounts. I have a few hundred thousand in investments, a paid-off house, and no debt of any kind, but they’ll bemoan the fact that I have very little in “savings”.
