The important “facts!”

Jamar Clark (c. 1991 – November 16, 2015) was born to Bettie Smith and later adopted by Wilma and James Clark when he was four. His family stated that he had a close relationship with his biological and adoptive parents and his 14 siblings.

Yes, 14 siblings!

He said the kids at Dartmouth were somewhat sympathetic to the BLM cause

I would a very sizable pct. of the college-age youth believes the liberal narrative about white cops gunning down innocent blacks for no reason whatsoever in Colin Flaherty's words.

They would probably be shocked to learn there are only a handful of questionable shootings of blacks by cops annually.

And they are obviously ignorant of the fact that the most dangerous thing for a black male is another black male.

“They would probably be shocked to learn there are only a handful of questionable shootings of blacks by cops annually.”

They would also be shocked to know how easy it is to get yourself shot by a cop no matter what color your skin happens to be. For far to many cops, their guns are their “hammers,” and all citizens look like “nails!” When you watch someone die by the hand of one cop and he has 16 bullets in him, you have to know something is really wrong. Thanks to the ability to film their acts, more and more errrant cops are going to find out that they can no longer get away with criminal abuse under color of authority. Good cops should be all in for being filmed as they go about their legitimate duties. And that goes for our courtrooms as well.

I'm 66 years old. Although I've been stopped about half a dozen times by cops for driving violations, I've never been shot by a cop.

In fact the cops were uniformly polite except for one. None of my friends, family members, relatives, co-workers have ever been shot by cops.

Where is this place where people other than criminals are getting shot by cops on a regular basis?

Water cannons would be an appropriate response. A disruption of the disruption. Alternatively, set up sound sources that cause loss of bowel control. That will send them home early.

“Where is this place where people other than criminals are getting shot by cops on a regular basis?”

Well right here in the San Ramon Valley of Contra Costa County, California.
Case #1: Danville cops found a guy sleeping in a car in a gas station. When they rousted him he (24 years oid) went for his glove compartment, so they fired 21 rounds, hitting him 12 times. Nothing in the glovebox. but when I spoke with the PD about it the chief said that the officers were “scared.”
Case #2: A woman, fearing that her friend in San Ramon was suicidal, called the local PD to check on her. The woman let them in and then ran to her kitchen and picked up a knife. The cops shot her to death. She was Asian and about 90 lb. The cops tell everyone that it was simply a case of “suicide by cop.” If that’s the case, why was it the friend’s phone call that brought them to her door?
Case#3: A Danville cop recently wen to jail along with a local PI and a female divorce lawyer. The three of them were setting up divorcing husbands by using floozies to entice the men into getting drunk at a local watering hole with the prospect of a follow on hot tub party. When the men would leave, the PI would call the cop who would make the arrests.
The only good news is that since that episode, San Ramon has fired the Contra Costa County Sheriff, who was staffing and running their PD, and now they have their own force. Sadly, Danville still uses the Sheriff!
So I am still of the opinion that cops place little value on human life, and they are fine with criminal activity so long as there is a financial benefit to them personally.

Any questions?

I'd really have to look into those situations. The first two you cite are a few instances which don't really answer the questions. If I was a policeman and somebody quickly reached for something, especially when they picked up a knife, I might shoot too. Are your cops trigger happy? Maybe they have a reason.

And case number three is about a crooked cop and not a cop shooting somebody. Yes, there are crooked cops where I live too. Happy?

“Are your cops trigger happy?”

No moreso than cops elsewhere. There are virtually no Violent Crimes where I live. We had someone who was dealing drugs out of a million dollar home get killed twenty years ago, but there is absolutely no reason for cops here to be trigger happy, and yet they have needlessly killed citizens and have gotten away with it.

“Happy?”
No, I’m not happy! We have courts for the purpose of meting out punishment. I guess you’re O.K. with the cop caught on video putting 16 rounds into a drugged out black kid in Chicago who posed absolutely no threat to him? Or the two LA Sheriff’s deputies who put 32 rounds into a whacked out guy carrying a gun in a non-threatening manner a week or two ago. These shootings didn’t serve to protect anyone, but what the hey, “they were Only Black men so who gives a $hit, right?”

I never said there weren’t bad cops. But what you’re saying/implying is that bad, trigger-happy cops are commonplace. Innocent people all over the country are getting gunned down by bad cops every day. You know that’s not true.

“But what you’re saying/implying is that bad, trigger-happy cops are commonplace. “

It’s more “commonplace” than it should be! A cop’s gun seems to be all too frequently, the first “tool” out of his “toolbox.” I guess the thing that I see is that cops don’t seem to believe that they have to observe the laws they enforce on us. Simple stuff like not signaling, speeding without the need to do so. It says that they consider themselves to be above the law. So using a gun indiscriminantly, seems to come all too “naturally” to all too many cops.

It should be legal for any motorist to run over any protester.

There is NOTHING, no situation anywhere, in any circumstances that gives anyone the right to disrupt my schedule. The only imaginable exception would be policed and fire and only then for the purpose of allowing them to get to the location they need to deploy from.

Protestors should be shot, or at least severely beaten; I don’t care if I agree with what they are protesting, make examples of them that would horrify the Romans.
