I was amazed, about a week ago, to hear a Santorum ad on the radio here in Iowa. It was a good ad hitting on his strong stance and record against radical Islam. Most, if not all, here dismiss Santorum overall, as do I. But I’ve only heard praise on the rare occasions he comes up on this subject. Still with Cruz and Trump also arguably ‘good enough’ on this subject and both thought better on many others, Santorum being ‘good enough’ here will at best win him a position in someone else’s next administration. Still, surprising to find he could afford an ad.

Huck, Santorum, Paul, Rubio are all burning bridges for a caucus they have no chance of winning. Why would they risk alienating conservatives and destroying a chance for a future cabinet position if Cruz should win? Perhaps the syndicate party bosses have made some promises to them if they will take out Cruz. He is the nemesis of the Republican establishment and political class. I once thought Huck would make a good press secretary, now I see him as an envious self-promoter. Paul could have been secretary of the treasury and worked for restoring honest money, but he continually lets his personal ambition occlude his principles. He is turning to the dark-side, the McConnell is strong with this one! It makes no sense to attack from the left, unless there are unseen forces at play.
